I understand but I prefer to keep my processor for the long run and I need to be taught properly how to OC a processor I am still learning....due to my Autistic nature I like things to be normal and kept the same its just the way I am...I dont see the point in over stressing my processor now its been in my computer almost 2 months and my computer is pretty much still new...maybe in a few years I may consider OCing it...but for now it remains stock clocks
I was expecting the awnser "Not that it would need OCing", but yeah, you're right. Little thing though: It's done via the BIOS, you set a clock speed and a multiplier (I have no idea why) and the product of the factors is the CPU clockspeed.
I know about the procedures in the BIOS level to get an OC done but I dont feel I am ready to do it my computer is almost 2 months old...its still brand new so give it some more time Arne then I will consider some overclocking but not on a massive scale...
i5 3570k @ 4.2GHz @Arne Hurnik CPU has its own multiplier because you can't transfer clock signal with such a big frequency through motherboard, the second reason is that other devices also rely on clock. RAM is even more interesting with it's "double data rate" as it reads clock signal on both positive and negative changes.
Thanks man Well my dad paid for it, I was bitching and moaning about my old computer for over a year before it and it took me from April to the end of October to come up with the specification I originally wanted 16GB DDR4 ram and a GTX980 and 1 4TB drive and then my dad said why not make it the most powerful ever so he upgraded the 980 to a 980Ti and double the RAM and added in a second 4TB drive, so there we go...
Ah, thanks a lot. @RobertGracie A standard 980 is crap anyway. Well, when I started getting the specs on my computer, my dad came in, said "If you want something better, then you should go with something MUCH better." We then scraped the i5 together, agreed on a GTX960 (after reading what BlueScreen said, I first changed my mind to a R9 380X, then a GTX970), 16GB DDR4 RAM (he said that it would become more and more crucial in the next few years and I would be able to upgrade to twice the size if I wanted to when going with 2x8GB) and that nice overclocking-Motherboard. Also due to BlueScreen, I chose a CoolerMaster Hyper 212 Evo instead of a cheapo-Arctic Freezer 11 LP. Not that the other one would be bad, the CoolerMaster is just better. I think my initial idea for the new computer would have been €500 or so, with an R9 240 and an AMD FX-8350 or 8370. Don't know how well BeamNG would have ran with that thing......
Phenom II X6 1100T BE @4.0 GHz waiting to be pushed a bit more when I finally find some time and eagerness to swap the radiators...
I wish people could imagine how a single sentence can make a man's day. You've put a big smile on my face on what for some reasons is literally THE worst New Year's day in my life, thank you .
Speaking of new years eve, have you guys blown a lot of money into the air and was it worth it (please no numbers)? Sorry being as off topic as it gets.
Nope, couldn't find my flare gun on time. In fact, I haven't even pop the cork on a champagne... EDIT: lemme add a 20 MHz Motorola MC68020 @25 MHz on my Amiga 600 HD here to ensure compliance with the thread's topic .
That sucks to hear. Especially after that 6m volcano that made the whole street clap applause and the fact that (woot!) sun wheels are available again. Go visit your family and (if you're old enough) get drunk.
