theres also a lot of crap for £25. 212 Evo or bust, Corsair have no rival at that price point, you can even spend more and get diminishing returns versus the evo. --- Post updated --- Unless you intend to overclock it or there is a major airflow concern in your particular case. Generally not worth the investment. If required though. H100i for a twin 120mm option, or their 140mm option (I forget model number). Dont bother with the single 120.
I find normally slightly over speccing one part of the system will take a load off your mind later on down the road
All my stuff is mostly all corsair, but I am open to all suggestions no matter the brand. 50-100 USD range. Thanks all.
I doubt there are many air coolers that can do that for less than $100 try increasing that budget to about what $200 and you will have more options available
If you want to overclock. You really do want a 240mm radiator. They all start at above 100 dollars. Really only 2 choices there actually, cooler masters nepton 240 or the corsair h100i. Water cooling is expensive, hence why I said its not usually worth it.
Well I see (scratch that price) http://www.corsair.com/en-us/hydro-series-h110i-gt-280mm-extreme-performance-liquid-cpu-cooler Looks like this is a good buy? Thanks
I agree with you on that, water cooling is when your doing some extreme overclocks that Air Cooling cannot match I run that and its extremely good and it keeps my 5960X under load at below 50 Degrees C its a very capable cooing system
Most cases wont mount the 110i. Its a dual 140mm radiator, most cases physically dont have space for that. The 100i is dual 120 Otherwise, either is solid if you wish to spend the money. Should also be noted, these all in one systems arent really upgradeable.
the H110i GT is definitely non upgradeable but going open loop is a whole different ball game its just insane what you have to do there so going for a single AIO is preferred unless you know EXACTLY what you are doing with cutting and bending pipes....
Custom loop does not mean open loop... While open loops are custom, most custom loops are closed loop still. You only have to bend pipe if going for a hard piped system, most custom loops are soft piped.
For beginners that isnt easy so until you know how to do it correctly its to be LEFT ALONE, so go AIO for safety because doing what you must to pipes and stuff is a different level of skill entirely...
Only? The 110 is the larger of the 2 still. --- Post updated --- Youd be surprised at how easy it is... Cutting a pipe and installing it into a compression fitting is something a 5 year old can do. Yes you must be meticulous, but its not a difficult task. Then again, katanas and power supplies.
STOP REMINDING ME OF THAT! XD, come on and yeah but I was playing on safety there and I have Slight Autism which makes things slightly harder for me so I had to go for an AIO for ease of use...
lol, that's how under knowledged, I am with water cooling and all that jazz.. anything else I should know? Thanks guys
Aspergers specifically. I know. But ultimately, you pretty much just get big sturdy scissors. Cut hose. Slide the screw cap over the hose, slide hose onto fitting, slide cap down over hose onto fitting and tighten.
