so this went from sealed gecko to Code Unknown to FLyInG 2 YoUr SoUL. this monster truck mod just won't stay dead and i love it
- The three bodies all merged into a single vehicle with interchangeable shells, so that means El Toro Loco will make its debut, with two dedicated paint schemes available (black and orange) - Updates to Max-D (windshield, smoothed body mesh, lowered ride height to mimic the real truck). - The final version of the new turbocharged engine in the 1500HP state of tune, with new front and rear LSDs. - Revised drivetrain/tires/suspension system (again...) to improve traction and match the new engine characteristics. One new tentative setup turns out to be a bit rigid (pitch is almost non-existent), but eradicates wheel wobbling completely. Searching for a perfect compromise right now. - Configurable ride height. For now, I allowed only for +/-5cm margins. - Configurations for each truck/paint design. I still have to make the cool looking snapshots though... - Dash cam (provided I can get it to work...). - Flying unicorns.
If I do not see this in the next update, you are going to be getting a strongly worded letter from me! But seriously, great work man! Can't wait for it!
Get ready to experience torque reactions on the steering column and misaligned textures in unadulterated first person view! Yeeh-aw!
You just described my favorite things! And you get to watch the hood jiggle (a lot) since it's not jbeamed. XD
Well, no, the hood doesn't move at all. Since it's not Jbeamed, the shell is linked to the chassis, so the hood area shakes only if the chassis underneath does. And with my new silky-smooth engine, that doesn't happen all that frequently (* lies blatantly *) Anyway, I just fixed the queasy shake around the steering wheel (more damping, a couple new support beams in the column). Now I need to remake the texture for the gauges, then I'll move on to the wheel cam...
The middle of the Max-D hood would bounce up and down. It was also the same part that would spike up if you crashed hard.
That was caused by the steering column snapping out: the beam structure I added to support the steering wheel was overly rigid in order to stay suspended mid air. The beams were so tense that they could act like a slingshot upon impact, thus deforming the shell. Should be fixed now. --- Post updated --- Yay, fixed. This is the cockpit of El Toro Loco... Heck, it feels... cramped! Curiously enough, there are two gauges that look exactly the same, will inspect the mesh in blender and check the material associated to it.
Seriously though, I want to double-check everything before release. And then finally try to understand how free camera works in order to make good thumbnails for configurations. So it's a matter of... a few hours maybe... And... I really need to sleep a few hours before I do...
Lol, you do what ever you need man XD I think I'll survive for a bit. I'm glad you are going for good quality too!
Almost ready. Configurations done and tested, JBeams double-checked for errors, setups verified. Yay! Taking snapshots right now. Upload Soon™... Sorry for the wait, but I'm in a 24/7 availability period at work... Oh, MadUSA is getting new rims...
