The node beam/beam structure. Basically the same thing as the beam structure you've been working with on the bulls. The tires aren't beamed correctly to do tire deflation iirc.
Ah, well, could have figured it out. Yes and no. Yes, because the beam structure is indeed the cause of the problem, and I know it (deflation works ok, explosions on the other hand aren't handled appropriately). No, because pressureWheels are generated automatically via definition of some basic parameters for the torus. So it's not something I could make "right" or "wrong", nor something I can change. Deflation mechanics were designed around much smaller, automotive tires, the monster truck is kinda pushing them to the limits. I can modify the parameters for support/side/thread beams, but it won't solve the problem, maybe just make it so that the spikes are more pleasing to the eye, but that's that. Anyway, I solved the issue by reworking some parameters of the suspension system. Tires won't be tasked to absorb that much impact force on landing anymore, so they simply won't explode like that.
you can just upload the revised files. but be sure to have it already in for the next large update. then y[e]
Here they are. Can you please test them and report back? I never had tires exploding on me on harsh landings, but I wanna make sure it wasn't due to pure luck...
I set the closed torque value on the diffs to 500,000 and I got it to act as if it locked. It will even pick up the inside front tire during donuts and roll over if you keep going, just like real life. It probably doesn't need to be 500,000, but that's what I set it to.
request: can you make this a skin option for me? --- Post updated --- report: it happens a LOT less frequently, and when it does, the tire easily pops back into place by going forwards and back a couple times. sometimes it'll pop back into place all on it's own. (trying to post new reply. always adds to last one. beamng pls fix site now)
To anyone that knows how to make mods/knows the config of mods: is there like a camera stiffness option that people can increase?
so i tested the truck (finally) and the wobbling is still very much present on dirt. the axle was also a limited slip. it also appears that lower the suspension, the better it handles (ie. when you hit the brakes with the wheels in one direction, it decides to spin the opposite direction). could use some traction on dirt to where it can pop a slap wheelie some pics
I'll be testing this solution. Ideally, 2000 would suffice, meaning all the torque - 1935Nm - can reach the wheels. Will probably include something along these lines in the next update, thanks a lot for the suggestion! Sure! Can I modify it? Like, by adding decals for the rear lights, the Ford logo in the front...? That's good. Wheels should break off and detach from the knuckles on severe impacts, but that works too, I guess. Does the rim still glitch out? Yes, there is. Cameras are nodes like any other. The beams connecting them to the vehicle do have stiffness parameters indeed. I've increased stiffness for both the cockpit and the wheel camera for the next update. I'll see if some work on differentials as suggested can help, otherwise it's back to the drawing board again for the drivetrain. * Sigh *
Will do. Thanks! --- Post updated --- KFA2 Galaxy as it appears in game... --- Post updated --- closedTorque @ 20.000... ARE YOU NOT ENTERTAINED?
looks awesome! maybe move the hall of fame text on the side up a bit closer to the window to keep it from getting cut off. give it blacked out tail lights maybe. also is it possible to remove the lines that show where the door is? they cut through the text. the tires broke off a lot more often. i only got the tires to do the thing twice, and the rims never became the jumbled mess the times that it did happen. a big step in the right direction.
Ok, will do. That, I'm afraid, is impossible. The shutlines are part of the body mesh. Good. I'm experimenting with differentials right now. Hopefully I can get this mess sorted out sooner or later...
Uhm... No. How do you like this? Smoked rear lights decal and red shocks/rims. The matte red alloys are currently exclusive, no other paint scheme uses them.
aww. k. to keep with the white theme, make the rims white as well. or an interesting thing would be white tires. probably not possible. but it would look awesome.
