Last week a guy 2 houses away from us was attacked at his house, he got stabbed in his lung and almost lost his hand.
We had a drug bust near me about a month ago. The police found 1lb of marijuana in a house with about 15 plants in the greenhouse in the back yard.
New yorker here, you would not believe how many Hondas get stolen here among the other crime you'll find in any major metropolitan area where there a lot of poor people who decide they want nice things. My car is worth maybe 5 grand, and you would not believe how often it gets cased. There are constantly lowered Japanese cars with loud mufflers and the stereotypical white letterin stickers on their windshields that park on my block when I leave it out at night. Until I can afford a full blown viper alarm setup it sleeps in the garage with a Volvo parked right up against the garage door. Good luck car thieves, I'm behind 7 proxies.

Closest thing I've had to local crime is loud unruly neighbours being out at night. Nothing really major otherwise though.
