Dacias just arrived to my country about a year ago but they're not doing well for such a cheap car. Mainly because they don't offer automatics on all models (where I live people love automatics)

I see a super base model Sandero quite often, its actually one of the last cars that looks truly like a basic model. Looks like this, just add about a years worth of road dirt. I also saw a standard looking estate a few days back.

I can see a Logan too, haha
    --- Post updated ---
They don't exist in the US because (I think) they have wait too small engines for the State, like Logan has a 0,9 litres engine with 80 HP I think, and for real this car is small, is designed for our small european roads, it would look like a toy in the US xD.

Still, the Smart, the Mini and the Fiat 500 - all smaller than the Sandero by quite some margin - are available in the US. And so are some offerings by the japanese manufacturers (like, say, the Toyota Vitz/Echo/Yaris)

There's simply no market for superminis in the US, unless you can place your product as a lifestyle/premium vehicle... or you can afford to export your models regardless of demand, like Toyota does.

I don't think that's entirely true, at least for Canada (I can't imagine there's that big a difference). The Fiat 500 exploded after they reintroduced the brand and now they're everywhere. Smarts are common too, as well the Mazda 2 and Ford Fiesta. We're even getting DS in a few years, though that's a premium brand like you mentioned. They may not be a majority market like in Europe, but to say there's no market isn't right either.

Well, the Canadian market shares a lot of similarities with the European one.

The 500 might be doing well in Canada, but it's not exactly a runaway success in the US. Maybe "no" market is a bit harsh, but the limited relevance of the segment is what's holding many manufacturers of superminis back from even considering export toward the US profitable.

Yeah, maybe you're right. I'm honestly surprised they're as prolific as they are here. You would think we would have more 4WD's than the US seeing as inter-city driving isn't exactly a walk in the park. I guess that's where the 500X and Mini Countryman come in.

You replied to a two year old post in a thread that has been dead for two years. Avoid doing it again, it is pointless and not welcome on the forum.

Dacias are one of most popular cars here in Serbia and I see many of them every day (mostly Logans and Sanderoes, and Dusters, but somewhat less).
The Sandero is the best selling new car in Serbia among private buyers (despite major popularity of VWs and other German cars).

Here in Brazil, we have the Renault Sandero, which is a badge engineered Dacia Sandero. We even have the Sandero RS, which is a sport version, with a 2.0-liter engine and a six-speed manual transmission. I like the Sandero RS, because it's a true sport version, with unique mechanical specs (only avaliable to the RS), not just a different steering wheel and a more aggressive bodykit.

Don't know how that works, but the Renault Sandero RS doesn't exist as Dacia Sandero RS, lol, and so, in Romania, I have seen none, which is very awkward.

Dacia Sandero is meant to be low priced car, so that's maybe the reason why there aren't its RS version in Europe.

The Sandero RS only exists here in Brazil, as far as I know. And I honestly don't know if the Dacia Sandero is sold anywhere else with a Renault badge.

EDIT: According to Wikipedia, it's sold under the Renault marque in Russia, Egypt, South Africa, Mexico and South America (Brazil included).
