Messing with the lighting, looks better but still seems kinda off to me.. What do you guys think? EDIT: Further adjustments.
It seems close but almost a touch washed out? LJFHutch gave some good advice over in the Finland Rally map about lighting choice. Post #6 is what you're looking for. UPDATE: Finland-Rally-A-map-conversion-from-RoR
Its looking really great man! Will be nice when we get some more template options from east coast map when its released. 707 posts woot my favorite number!!
Thanks man, yeah and tons of static objects. Gonna save a lot of time for people that know how to make stuff, and for people like me who have no interest in learning 3d modeling it's gonna make my maps a lot nicer. Tweaking it still:
I made some parts people could use for their map they just need textures. Its somewhere on the terrains forum. You can use the street lights. And look up the guard rails that have been made by users. Also you can get the dae files from the street signs vehicle and make road signs all over the map with them
Kilo the colors look awesome! You nailed when you said a warm summer day it looks perfect! I think there's an offroad park map [A Map to Crawl Over] that used the broken industrial pier posts to make guard rails in portions of the map that looked very realistic and function well. He also used them to cordon off areas as well. If those are features you might like, go take a look.
Here is some long and forgotten guard rails that will look good if u can use them! http://www.beamng.com/threads/3047-...-2-fixed-shading-issues?highlight=guard+rails
Yeah those work quite well actually, I really thought this intersection looked ridiculous before, like no person in their right minds would approve of that.. But yeah looks ok now! EDIT: Another one looking back at the first spot.
Looks splendid man! Also when ur editing an object if you look on the options on the right u can make very small movements by editing the rotation numbers. Im ocd and this was awesome for me to be able to utilize.
It's moving along slowly, adding guard rails along the paved road right now which is painfully slow. Then I gotta polish up the airport area a bit, and I've been procrastinating on adding trails since they are a pita.
Keep going! It looks awesome, even if its not perfect it will be totally awesome! Dont be too pressured, not even the developer maps are perfect.
Just in case you haven't figured it out, if you hold "shift" while moving something it duplicates it, saves having to change the rotation all the time on close objects
