Hello, idk if this is an issue for anyone else but the Google drive link doesnt work, is an updated one available?

Yikes. You really should come back to these and update them a bit more frequently.

Great mod! but i'm having some trouble finding a place to download it, every time I attempt to go to Patreon it sends me right back to BeamNG. Anything helps

 

As you can see, the Google Drive link is broken, that means the download is no longer available.

Unfortunately, I think the mod author is well aware of the broken link and has no plans to fix it. From what I can deduce it seems pretty clear that he has switched to Patreon modding almost exclusively and will no longer be releasing large maps on the forum for free (Tellude, for example, is still in "paid early access" over a year after his self-imposed free release deadline, and Caldera Bay would likely still be Patreon-only if it weren't for multiple people posting reminders in the forum thread), but is making the switch quietly because he knows that announcing the removal of existing free maps or cancellation of planned releases would not go over well at all. This is why I commented on a previous thread that the forum should introduce stricter rules for advertising mods in "paid early access". And if my assessment is wrong it would take very little effort on the creator's end to either fix the link or post the real reason for the mod being removed.

 

Found the map on ModLand (which I don't recommend to get mods from any other websites instead of BeamNG) and it does work. It is kinda laggy for me tho. The name for the map on there is "DESERT EXPANSE 2.0" even tho it's the 3.0 Beta ver.

That's pretty messed up. It's a really scummy move actually, taking formerly free content behing a subscription

 

The author has been taking a break for mental health reasons. Thankfully he recently announced his return on Patreon and plans to update/create new maps.

 

To be fair, in this case I think the link to Desert Expanse in particular is broken for Patrons too.

 

That’s actually worse cause they are effectively paying him for a non working link. I get mental health struggles but considering fixing a goolge drive link literally takes like 30 seconds, I don’t even think that’s a valid excuse

 

Or the man could just not care at all and leave us all be? What are you getting at?

 

does someone still have beta 3.1? if so, would they be so kind to upload it
