LFJHutch has posted again: On a side note, it appears that the ability for people outside the development to quote posts in the developer section has been disabled. I'm not sure if this is intended or a mistake.
I'm not sure if that is happening to me, because when I click to play a video it then starts buffering the clip. Maybe it has something to do with browser or how tight script control is (addons) ? --- Post updated --- Rollers and such seem to be much improved, I wonder though, how T-series would squeeze trough a roller?
Maybe NoScript, enable click to run feature, might be easiest, but might be also annoying? Another thing could be Grease Monkey or something similar, there is tag Code: <video preload="auto" , so grease monkey, stylish or some proxy to rewrite source of page to have video preload set to something else, which I have no idea which it should be? I don't know if Request policy would work, it can be lot of trouble, but it does make surfing really safe, you could use that to block media.beamng and by clicking it loads it. It seems my internet is so fast these days that there is not much of that delay, but there is something that might help you.
Both the embedded version and the linked one below the thumbnails stream just fine for me... Seems like something on your end I'm afraid
I'm still trying to figure out what the videos are showcasing. Seems like we've had everything in the videos for months now.
Actually I really wonder why some devs don't upload vids on YouTube, the plugin works flawless all the time, while when it's like latest Dieamondback post it works for me only when I press "direct link" and download it. Not a big deal, but why not making life simplier for everybody? Probably a lof of users will not see what's going on, because it doesn't load properly. Also it uses BeamNG's transfer everytime somobody watch or download it - lose/lose. You can set cartain % of RPM now, so i.ex. you can fix spinner speed at very low or whatever you wanna, and maybe a bit improved collision physics too. Hmm. do we have ETK K with cabon wing?
I'll give you an ELI10 or 15 instead. If you record a replay running framerates around 30-40 FPS, and attempt to play it back while your computer is managing 40-50FPS, you are going to see duplicated or missing frames, and the frames you see are going to show visible stutter. This is similar to film vs NTSC vs PAL framerate conversion problems, where your TV screen most probably is unable to refresh at 29.97 native Hz (or 24, or 25 or whatever is the case). And the videogame replay case is even worse, since it's not a fixed framerate, but it continuously changes while recording and while playing back. One way to solve it is to "invent" the intermediate frames, to compute new ones with the exact timestamp when it will be rendered on screen. This is relatively easy to do in traditional games, where you have these known rigid object abstractions (such as a car body, a rigid door, a wheel), with known properties such as position and orientation. You can easily interpolate between full steering lock in one frame, to no steering in the next one, because this thing called 'wheel' had such and such orientations before and after the desired timestamp. In beamng we have nodes with only position (nodes do not rotate, they only move). Our brain may group some of them together when they resemble known objects (such as a wheel). But code-wise, they are all just a bunch of nodes moving around, constantly changing shapes over time (because soft body physics). Therefore interpolation is not so straight-forward. And we render those fancy lines to help with developing/debugging these interpolation algorithms
New light bar and new police car, looks like you can have flashing patterns now? https://www.beamng.com/threads/micro-blog-s-2017.34617/#post-567423
In regards to the Italy runway photo: Having experience on the subject, I'll glady assist on runway markings and airfield signage if it's sought for, it would be quite a treat for people that use BeamNG for its aircraft mods, or just for the extra detail!
New Italy images: And from what I can see, LjF already "tested" the walls with the Sunburst, and apparently they're working.
that is a Hopper EDIT: maybe not, maybe Im wrong after all.. definitely looks more like an ETK convertible
Sneaky devs, they can't just give us screenshots out of the Developer Section and leave the Update Speculation thread locked. We'll behave ourselves, we promisse! (well, some of us will...)
The devs do a great job controlling the chaos on the forums. Locking the update spec thread was a good move on their part. IT would be nice for the devs to get 10 community members and make them forum thread cleaners/"mods". OT: After the hopper im most excited about the new and improved police lights.
The Hopper is coming! I know right? They have so much weight on their shoulders. More moderators would definitely make things easier on the ones we have now, especially if the new ones were in different timezones. The sad thing is, judging by the votes on Fera's thread, it doesn't look good.
I don't much care for those guardrails. Utah is the best map yet because of the lack of barriers. I am free to go off road at anytime, and also free to suffer the consequences if I "accidentally" lose control. Guardrails and other artificial walls like trees ruin the experience for me, because I then lack the freedom to go anywhere and experiment with crashes there. Plus, collisions with walls like this are very boring in Beamng, as you either just slide along the wall (boring) or your car turns into spaghetti (also boring, but Italians like spaghetti, so maybe that is the point of this map). When I crash, I want it to be glorious, with my car flipping out of control and parts flying everywhere. Walls and guardrails make that nearly impossible, as all fun crashes take place off road on rough terrain. Now I know there will have to be some walls, like on the hills and other places (but in an ideal world, there would be no walls) but the guardrail on that curve looks unnecessary and it will probably ruin many good wrecks I could have had. /rant
