Create a lattice underneath it of triangles. That might help keep it (more) solid. Possibly attaching it to the frame but with nodes that have a very low breaking value so that it can come undone easily too.

Now, I'd hate to be "that guy" but, Ebisu-Manimi But your version looks newer, so go for it Edit: by looking at that photo, it looks like the need for speed shift version, and i'd high recommend not using it, its very inaccurate compared to the real thing.

When I think of his Lada in the RoR forum... It started as exact the same; as a box. I don't know how he does it, but he's shaping it more and more until it finally looks like it is supposed to

It haz de jbeams. Wery gud deforms. Time for a Beta release!! Lol, just kidding. I've put it on the toycar by Sam to have a better look at reflections, panel gap distances, weird looking shapes etc. with a better camera movement. It's on the toycar because Grand Marshal is too mainstream. Quite happy with the feel of it though. Reflections look better ingame than in maya witch is really awesome
