Started working on a little thing for practice but I like it so much now I actually want to finish it lol. It will probably be a while though
About how many more tries should I take doing this thing? Let's at least start with a simple checklist: Does it drive? Yes. Does it look okay? Not really. But it's a start. Does it drift? Kind of.
Progress on UV mapping. It looked good enough at this stage that I enabled more parts. I think the facelift front end looks pretty good on it, actually.
"Looks like something I've seen before...but I can't remember what it is" 8K screenshot quality. Very early stage of development.
More texturing progress. It's an ugly color, but it nicely shows the properly textured roof. I remember the lines there had wonky normals on the first version I made; I was able to avoid that this time. Once I finish the rear wheel wells, the jambs for the front doors, and the back end, I can move on to the interior finally.
Re-texturing in progress. Applying white lead paint on a vertical wood plank surface using a soft bristle workshop broom.
I'm drooling wooooodgrain! Hope it'll have some beige or white leather/cloth with cute lace on the seats
New to the Roamer Sport this model year... cupholders! Now your rear seat passengers can stow a drink safely to the side, rather than spill it on the seats and give you a bad day.
Something else I'm doing differently with the Roamer Sport is the format of the tailgate. On previous versions I used just the whole liftgate with the intention of it swinging up. But that just didn't seem right given the ramp of the rear pillar, so I'm going with a two-piece lift glass and pickup-style drop gate combo. I spent an hour or two copying triggers and hydros from the D15 so I could do the latter item first. You can use the O key to open it the same way, too! So it's my first foray into all three of those things. I noticed on the Dx0 trucks that there was a handle on the inside to unlatch the gate, so I will probably add that somewhere also.
