Currently it shouldn't handle any different, as I have not made any jbeam changes so far lol (aside from removing the tailgate)
The hardtop I would imagine should handle a bit better than the wagon, but this is a 70s barge so don't expect too much :p
That said with the right suspension tune I have found things can be improved a lot, so I will likely include some street tuned configs with improved handling where possible:)
Also really tempted to get some 330 Cedric/Gloria brochures, they would be great for reference, specs ect..

Anyways apart from minor tweaks haven't really made any Claria progress (or used my pc at all) over the weekend:p though I have spent an hour or so modeling something else:eek:

    XW Falcon?
I'm not really familiar with Aussie Fords, looks similar to the Cortina we had in the UK a little.

basically yeah, lore friendly 2nd gen aussie Falcon with bits of other Ford (and some other cars)

Think of it as a lighter Barstow with 4 doors and actually somewhat decent handling ;);):p
    screenshot_2023-04-04_03-03-59.png
    That is mostly coincidental:p

Claria HT jbeam is done for now:p
    screenshot_2023-04-04_17-11-06.png
still have yet to tweak some stuff like proper deformation and collision triangles (my claria is not cooperating and wont display coltris atm :p:()

weight wise the 4DHT turns out to be about 30kg lighter than the wagon, though I have no idea how accurate this is. Ideally I would chech the specs from a brochure but have yet to be able to find some legible, complete 330 brochure scans:(

And of course there is openable parts, have to figure how those work (a new concept to me xdd)

    25kg less so pretty accurate

    Whole brochure: https://www.team-bhp.com/forum/post-war/15883-my-datsun-260c-330-restoration-3.html

Oh thanks, that is super helpful :)
I've been searching auctions and such for 330 brochures but not that many for sale:( this should do for the time being

Nah, while the Claria may be heavily inspired by 230 and 330 Datsuns, it's not a 1:1 copy and etiting to be so would be a lot of work

I've also been trying to find some brochures for quite a bit and yeah same problem, took a while but I did get my hands on a Datsun 240C 230 one.
Also I do have a 260C 230 irl if you need reference pics for like the inside of the trunk or rear interior or something, probably should've mentioned earlier skullmoji
Also also when swag decals spoiler trim

:eek::eek: yeah would love to see pics, also have yet to do the inner boot so reference pics of the trunk lining, boot jams ect would be super helpful:)

And don't worry, I was thinking of using that exact config for a sports version of the hardtop (with the stripe, spoiler, two tone roof and all:cool:)

Today's progress isn't much, just sorting the jbeam and adding separate jbeams for all of the HT parts
    screenshot_2023-04-05_17-25-39.png
Also if you look closely you will see that I converted it to use 5 lug hubs instead of 4, mainly cuz all Japanese of this size used 5 lugs so this would be more accurate. So far finished converting the GT wheel models to 5lug, others will come next
    screenshot_2023-03-30_17-35-39.png
That said I will also make 4 lug hubs optional for people that want to use Watanabes ect...

and on the subject of accuracy @LJ74 the Claria exceeds maximum Japanese width restrictions by a good 120mmo_O:confused::p;) (length is fine tho)
    upload_2023-4-5_17-54-28.png
now tempded to fix and bring down to 1690mm but going to be a mega PITA (and not to mention jbeam adjustments):p:p

could also just f it and have it as a 3number car only (like the Maxda Roadpacer)

    for sure

Anyways thanks to the magic of geometry nodes (god bless) I was able to scale down the width to a more reasonable figure fairly quiclky:)
    screenshot_2023-04-05_19-07-15.png screenshot_2023-04-05_19-07-29.png screenshot_2023-04-05_19-07-47.png
should only have to manually edit the dash and outer floorpan a bit, but otherwise thats it:cool:
jbeam should just be a matter of moving the outer nodes in a bit as well, the basic floorpan/suspension geometry won't be changed (though I may reduce the stock track a bit for fitting t h i c c rims on stock guards:cool:)

So the Claria 4DHT will be narrower than the Claria Wagon?
