It's happening... for reals this time (-‿‿-)

    (imported from here)

Expect textures tomorrow, unless I get lazy and don't do them, but hopefully that won't happen. Then I can join the halves, do some other versions and it's done, at least for the model part

Ran into a problems! ugh so far into the work! Now what am I going to do? If I ignore and go ahead and release I know there still be bugs but people will point out every problem and then it just gets out of hand.... I can live with the fender gap. But the air vents.... So much work to still be done.

Besides lots of other stuff, I added a new 6 speed manual gearbox to the D15 mod. It's almost like the normal 5-speed, but with a low-range first gear.

Problem is, I can't get it to funtion properly. Normally you can get the truck moving without applying throttle and just by putting the car in first gear. But using this low range gear it's or not moving but the speedo says it is, or it bugs forward. Also, the speedo goes crazy and the truck shakes when applying full throttle in first gear. Putting it in a higher gear it will act normally, shifting back to the first gear the car quickly stops or quickly decelerates and slowly bugs forward.

I already increased the "clutchtorque" which seem to solve the speedo-crazyness a bit, also I increased & decreased the "lockingTorqueLimit" but I can't solve the 'drive-off without applying throttle' bug. Anyone an idea? And can anyone explain to me what "lockingTorqueLimit" does? "clutchtorque" seems straight forward (how much the clutch can handle before slipping(?)), I think"lockingTorqueLimit" is the minimum amount of torque applied by the engine when the clutch is depressed. But I'm not sure :p

The Wiki doesn't explain anything, I searched the forum but without result. I also looked at the semi's gearbox, it just has higher values for those two variables, but it also has "viscousCoupling" disabled...

(The screenshot says 'D', but it's in first gear. I'm using the old alpha for testing which has the gear showing issue.)

@ar162b there wasn't a "gear showing issue" you just had to manually switch between manual and auto by clicking on the ui app (which I personally preferred, as I liked seeing what gear the auto trans had the vehicles in

I started working on my own fictional supercar. Here's my progress so far:

And this what it's gonna look like:

I'll try not to spam too many pics of the model before I get it in game.

    Post your feedback/name ideas/hate below.

Im not sure if its just the angle but you may want to curve the front end a little bit more. It currently quite square (if you look from top down) which will make it look a little odd. I also think that the headlights could maybe do with a little work, but that's more nit picking cause it looks pretty awesome (as far as the first 1m of car bodies go :p )

    It's a bit square, yes. Here's compared to a 458:
    top.PNG 2010-Ferrari-458-Italia-Top-1280x960.jpg
But the front overhang is long enough already :/
As for the lights, they're still empty inside. And I might even change them completely for some long gallardo-ish headlights.

I guess you would have to move the wheels forward a bit as well as curve it a little more. Your choice ultimately.

I've mapped the body now, as you can see from my very terrible stripe (and that the unmapped part is red - the underbody thingies will have a separate material)
    a.png b.png
You'll be glad to know that I've done this properly and made both sides separately, so writing (e.g numbers) will read the right way round on both sides. Of course, the release will feature decent skins, unlike the one above:p

I guess, but its very difficult to pull off. I had the issue with my supercar, i had to round the corners of the bonnet to make its proportions look correct.
