Now we just need to do some more LUA And fix everything from deforming while the hydros do their job... EDIT: Ah crap... forgot we have a thread for this thing now. :/
So i finally watched some tutorials for blender and i just did a simple trash can, im very proud for this little thing, im probably gonna watch more tutorials on how to uv map and check deeper in the forums for proper jbeaming. And i also just tried for fun, replacing a cars jbeam with a downloaded cheap hummer model, i used mythbuster's range rover jbeam because i though it would fit more, also sorry i didnt ask for permission, i didnt ask it because this is just for fun and for my own personal testing purposes. i dont plan on releasing this disaster anyway.
"Have you ever wanted to destroy a building in one of the most realistic driving simulators ever?" I know I have a LOT of work to do on this, but I'm sure it'll work. More soon!
I looks like it needs many more components. Right now it looks like the High-Res Cube, except stretched out. I know you said it needs work, but in its current state it's not much of a proof-of-concept; at least for realistic building destruction. I think supports like columns/pillars are necessary for the interior, and much more breakgroups/parts for the exterior walls. The columns are for visual/structural support, and the breakgroups would be needed so the walls can fall to pieces instead of (just?) deforming. I like that you're tackling this concept, but it is missing key components that would make it perform like a building. -- Edit -- Scratch what I said about the breakgroups. They're better that what I first noticed. So this is a decent proof-of-concept, sorry I said that it wasn't. Columns would help, I think, with the destruction of it. A *VERY heavy base may help it stay in place better as well.
This is my first model of a car, it sucks, and its awful. but nobody starts perfect. I started off a few hours ago, I honestly dont know if I will ever finish it, I might scratch it completely and start again, the blueprint is bad and I cant find any other. If anyone knows where to find a good blueprint of a dodge daytona 1971 i would appreciate it a lot. Im probably gonna watch more tutorials for blender and such but as of now this is what I managed to do. I would really want to make this car in game, i want to make mods too and this is why i started to learn jbeaming as well. I managed to make my little trash can in game but it just sucks. its a starts tho.
You can look at the-blueprints.com to see if they have any blueprints that you can use (some are free, some are not). You may even be able to get away with using good blueprints of a similar model dodge for most of the body, then using the blueprints you have for the rest. I also suggest that you use the mirror modifier instead of modeling both sides of the car independently. It's unnecessary to model each side of the car by hand for symmetrical cars. Tutorials are a great option to get you started and there's a lot that you'll probably learn from hands-on experience too.
Very cool! Make it a metal shed of some sort because that's exactly what it looks like....or make a deformable shipping container. Imagine it in full chrome.
Ive had some thoughts around that. Either make the complete building out of a glass-like material OR make individual part and in some way pre-assemble these then import to Beamng. Like the vehicles, like the Street Light, so its possible. Do it. NOW!
Uhh, guys, inflation, buoyancy! I hope this means what I think it means. (boat, possibly better tires, landing mats)
