^ pls u fail I revisited my Wheel Pack. Decided I have to redo some wheels because I actually don't like. Here's an updated album with the current ones - http://imgur.com/a/GuMjf#0 This is one I'm redoing, based off some real ones. It was a little pain to get the right shape, but it worked out. Still untextured. Wire: (Some wires will be deleted afterward, at the moment is all arrayed and mirrored as you can see under)
Those look nice! But the spokes seem far too thin to be strong enough? How's this? Think I got the shape down pretty well now? The corner pieces still don't look perfect but I'm happy with it, not noticable enough to redo it. Progress should be a bit faster now that the basic shape is right enough. Spent a full day on it since last pic I posted, but getting the shape just right takes way more time than adding detail. That said, GTA is coming the 14th sooooooo I might just be far too busy with that...
I extruded them further after I took those viewport snap And fixed the deepness being too much (clipped with some cars brakedisk) and alligned them to the brakedisk bolts. The nuts goes directly in the rim, I didn't modelled a hole because of the not-really-clean position of them. Those are killer on a 25% lowered Covet V Actually nope, the hub is still 4, but you can't see it
Those look great, but you're still gonna have to change the lugnuts a bit man.. There's no way in hell you're gonna get a socket for a torque wrench or an impact gun on there, not enough room around the bolts where the center of the wheel is... One of these, I mean:
My first attempts to create new wheels. I tried to re create the American Racing Vector (aka Dukes of Hazzard wheels) and Minilites. Both 15". (I know the Dukes version was 14") It's still very rough and in need of improvements, I even added normal and texture maps but that didn't turn out too well
Adjusted the Minilites and the Vectors a bit and added a 'Rocket Fuel' style rim. Also 15". It's difficult to find good reference pics, most have a huge perspective and/or the rims are a (sometimes a cheap looking) copy. Do you guys think if the proportions are right? I'm aware of the studs are not aligned with the nuts, I accidentally rotated the mesh. Now if I only was able to create proper textures
Nice work! I do not see any issues with the proportions. If you are as prolific with wheels as everything else...dayaam.
This is a small project that I decided to work on; in its early stages. I thought it would take me around an hour or two to complete. But it's turning out to require very tedious tasks, and that's making it take much longer than I expected. It's also a cpu eater at this point. (1247 collision trianlges 0_O)
