Yes, I know, everyone can critics, and sorry to possibly being a bit harsh now, but you should look at these points again -Why does it have a hood scoop? -Why does it have taillights which loose height to the middle? -Why is the rear fender (right above the wheel) so wide? -Why does it have those awful wheels? Ok, that's an opinion thing there, nvm it. As well as the aftermarket exhausts. -Why does it have such tiny mirrors? To stay a bit on topic (wouldn't have showed it that early actually...), that's what I'm currenty doing well progress with, take a guess what it is (if you want to):
Heres why its like this. big tires and hood scoop and all. Sadly its not the Delorian like everyone would want, instead its the DeGoryun from carmageddon reincarnation, which explains the weird parts that should not belong to a Delorian
Ah yep, was playing that game not long ago. Didn't know people manage to rip their models, some looks very nice and detailed.
Its actually pretty easy, the cars of carmageddon are just in a zag format, you can open them with rinrar, zag is basically a zip format. and on their website theres a model editor thing, its called flummery, it will open the MDL file and you can export it as an FBX file. and their models are really nice and detailed, the only problem i had was the textures, there is layers thing that i dont understand and half of my car is chrome. sergouil-delta88 is helping me with the textures.
I help as much as i can, it's working with color changes and so on, but the textures are really tiny and very dark. The interior is obviously made to be seen from outside the car, so with the camera inside the result is really bad in BeamNG. The DDS compression of the Nvidia plugin for photoshop doesn't help at all. It transforms dark textures in a mess of large pixels. Though i know how to do textures from scrath, but adaptating a car from another game and make it look pretty is something else. For me the interior should be remapped with a specific texture. But it's an interesting car and Crashmaster works pretty fast on it. A little bit of further work, better rear lights and glass effect and it would look correct, at least from the outside.
Well, this is what it seems. I originally started this project for Rigs of Rods, but it was plagued with physics issues and limits, so I'll re-model it and use this to learn about BeamNG's mod development. Hopefully this is possible.
Im uploading the .blend file of my Barstow mod. Needs some polishing but did all the paint stripes and custom roof for all the paint and stripes. Go ahead would love it to be professionally made better. Everything is HIDDEN! so make sure to unhide them all using the eye tool in the select menu. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4uGCYhQ9IIJOHRoVkVzWnpwWnM/view
Starting a car from my imagination for practising importing a car to the game. I used the Ibishu Pigeon Chassis with some modifications for the base
Thanks That's only work from yesterday as I had a bit of free time. I can totally empathise with you, you need to have the motivation to get anything done!
Normal mapped all the metal bits on the LTD, no details to the body texture currently as I will make that from the normal map. More parts than this are done, just too many to fit into the frame. Also thanks to gabester for the help with fixing my finicky normals.
Looks a bit similar to my not-too-old model That's it currently ingame btw If someone knows about hydros, tell me please. It's the part I'm pretty much stuck because I can't at all find a mistake :/
