Well I actually played GTA IV recently just to take a look at the subway / el system. However I will be making my own map from scratch drawing inspiration from various places. Otherwise I'd just do what a certain section of this forum does and "use", i.e. steal, content from existing games, which in case you're not catching my tone, I don't agree with. In order for a project like this to have any hope of completion it also has to have sensible ambitions. I think a map size of around 500x500m or 600x600m is a good balance of having a reasonable sized map to play on without it being too large to never be completed. (Penguinville in ror was 500x500 for reference).
If you have the possibility you can try also GTA V metro for inspiration, i like your idea of making mods, i have also a suggestion for what will be the landscape over the map, don't make the map an island but surrounded with actual mountains or different landscape, also to let you know, this is the mod i expect the most on the forums right now
Looking good , edited it based on your pic- here is a thread, to prevent this one from beeing spammed with posts about this car.
Yep, i'll probably need some help also i don't know if i'll put this on the megapack or post as standalone, we'll see
ok have fun thanks http://www.beamng.com/threads/gavril-d-series-facelift.14959/ also you totally broke the uv maps and did it generally wrong. the firewall is kept
probably nothing special , but i wanted to tell the ones who are interested , that the awd drift pessima is being overhauled. (mainly fixing stuff that made it behave weird) now it drifts correctly again and looks much better imo. It'll also finally receive a skin.
At least i'm trying to do something, it is good? maybe not, but i made it in less than 30 minutes with no blender skills, it was my first model, i didn't focus on UV maps for now because i didn't even expect my model will work in game, your mod is better: surely but i was at least trying. I did it for fun and for trying my capabilities.
I love seeing people learn. i dont understand why people on this forum shoot people down/can be not very helpful. They are just adding to the downward spiral. The way atomix said that came across as blunt and slightly rude. And while atomix is correct in what he says, he probably should not have been so blunt about it, though if thats his style then thats fine i guess. People just wont like it. This case is one of many i have seen on the forums where someone is blunt and not helpful at all. How about instead of giving negative criticism, people should say, "Hey, thats pretty good, but you messed up with [insert example here]. Here is a tutorial for how to fix [previous example]." anyways have a devolpment screenshot. added lettering
I used only the cut option, anyone learned me something, i didn't watch a tutorial, i didn't expect to fo a quality mod, just to do a little project to improve myself, evidently the forums just want people to do some skins and some configs, i don't even know if i'll continue on do that restyling, people will not understand my time put on my mods. Thank you for the support anyway. Sorry but i'm on phone, no screenshot
i wanted to say sorry too. my comment on this was a bit unnecessary. I shouldn't have said this in a way like i did , which was also a bit rude. Sure , what you've done might not be perfect , but it's probably a nice start at learning how the game handles the changes you do in blender and so on. keep on learning OT : Sorry for getting off-topic
Originally designed by @Atomix OT: Finally finished all the track surface here Still many things to do
The problem is with how half-assed it was. The front subframe swap on the D series/Roamer is extremely simple, as both of the cars have the front subframe and the firewall modelled separately so that they can be interchanged, just part them in blender and they happily go from one cab to another roamer to d series and vice versa. No firewall or cab at all cutting is needed. Also i suppose i could've gotten angry because of people being hyped about that while forgetting that theres the thing of mine. I suppose that a fair argument would be that i don't keep it up to date... maybe i could have someone look at it for me. I suppose you could salvage the resources from the mod i made, they don't seem to be of any use to anyone anymore.
