Looks good How did you managed to get the UV maps showing up in the 3D view? I accidentally managed to do it once, but I have no idea what key's I'd hit...
i decided to do the d15 restyling because of that reason, no tutorial, no help, just tried to have fun with something new, i used the knife function that i suppose is not the goodest, it may seem very easy but there are lots of problems for who has never used blender to create something, i came up with a low quality model with some bugs, but i didn't even know if i could put that model in game since i know about nothing about modelling, i hope that with some help and some tutorials i'll grow up in modelling. I sincerely hope you understand, mods are for fun, it's not a race. This is what i've done, bad but not awful
To be honest I dont Know exactly , this one is no .dae , this a .obj object but I just went in texture / materials view and they appeard
you open them up in a texture editor select all verts in edit mode and apply whichever texture you want. then you jump between the textured and plain mesh with alt+z
Whilst this usually works fine, here's the in-depth, complicated way to setup textures. This works with multiple materials, multiple textures, multiple UV maps, and as far as I'm aware, is the "proper" way to do it. 1. This is where you set the shading to textured, I usually end up switching between wireframe, solid and textured as it suits. 2. Set the shading mode to GLSL. Make sure your scene has adequate lighting, otherwise everything will be completely black even if the texture is actually there. 3. This is the materials editor, you can select each material here before moving to the texture pane which is used for steps 4 to 6... 4. This is the texture editor, where you assign textures to each material from 3. Usually you would at least have a "diffuse" (colour) texture assigned to each material. If there's nothing there, just hit the "New" button. 5. There should be the texture used here. If it's empty or blender can't find it just hit "Open" and find the image. This is usually the missing part since Blender often can't find the texture's by itself! 6. Check the correct UV map is being used, and it's projection is "flat". 7. This is just a nice overview view of how the object can have many materials, each with their own textures. You can see here how everything is linked together. It's a bit of a quick and dirty description, but pm me If you need any help!
yey. made my first scenario! Its a rally one, currently modelling some things to go with it. Like these rope barrier things
