I think to have it put on the official repo you are not allowed to have any "borrowed" assets. But if you are uploading to the mods section of the Forum anything goes, but if someone complains it will be taken down.

 

Yeah I meant the mods section (the repo), The forum is anything goes unless a copyright holder specifically reports it (like Assetto Corsa devs did)

well, okay, I checked the etk 6000 out which is based on a mercedes anything ...; also my mod is not exactly an gs300, it has differences because it got a different interior, also I tried to find any contact info to the author but I found nothing but its not raped from any game; its scratch made and the car / site says "free for all / free to use" so imo there shouldnt be a problem

But there is an issue in exactly the same way as if you had ripped it from a game, since it would be unauthorised use of someone else's assets. Unless the author has given permission for the model to be used whether on a personal or blanket statement basis.

 

I sent an email to them now of usage for game but as I understand it right , they are saying that you can anything as long as you credit the author ..

Yes, that means you are free to use it as long as you give credit to the person who modelled it. So you should mention them in the description, perhaps even provide a hyperlink to the model.
So you should be able to upload the mod to the repo.

Thanks to @daniel398767 i now have a high HP Turbo for the 2JZ engine that works and behaves properly now. The result is this in both the K-Series and 800. The turbo spools perfectly and stays spool once you dump the clutch resulting in an epic wheelie almost everytime.

wait so you cant even post real brands anymore? what about every other games like spintires and asseto corsa which lets them upload real brand vehicles? and their mods repo seems like its also regulated by the devs, why is this such a big issue for the repo here now? i think there are a few real brands on the repo anyways. why are you saying that its not ok suddenly? i get it for models from other games, but other then that why?

 

bbigger company, bigger game, they use lisenced cars in the game so rules may be different
