It isnt my mod, but im helping @Vinh with it if making skins, front diffs and well, this is considered as helping
I hope there's no rule against really long posts... Recently I have been kinda stuck with map creation. I love doing it, I always end up doing it in my free time. Right now, I feel stuck. I have a lot of maps in progress, and I want YOUR input on what I should finish, what I should remake, and what I should scrap. Let's get started from deprecated, to least finished, to closest to finished. 1. Sumas Mountain Another BC place, a mountain. Nobody cares, it's broken and there's too much effort to fix it. 2. Brainerd International Raceway This was a suggestion from a fellow BeamNG forum viewer. After my release of Agassiz Speedway, I felt momentum for making more race tracks. I worked on this map for like half an hour and lost interest. I revisited it today and there were some broken textures, but that should be easy to fix. There's not much done, and I don't know if I even want to work on it anymore. Also, drag strip. 3. Providencia A couple weeks ago I thought it would be a great idea to make an actual island. I fount this tiny island off the coast of Nicaragua. I ended up making one road texture and them just not touching it anymore. There is a slight chance that I'd work on this, but I doubt it. What you're seeing is just the sculptmap, there's no houses or anything. 4. Zeballos I spent an unbelievable amount of time on this map (I started this map in June). I learned Blender for this map. But because I was dumb enough to make the heightmap 8192x8192, the terrain tools lag so bad at the point I'm at, that I can't progress any further. Also it has ridiculous loading times and terrible frame rate. I'll probably still use it occasionally for screenshots in the main town (which is the highlight), but It wont be worked on or progressed any further. 5. Big Bend Expect to see this one in the near future. It's a super fast track, much like DoullPepper's maps, it was originally based on a real place (the heightmap and sculptmap are both from a location in Utah), but I made some significant changes to the road system. In real life, it's just one road that goes along the Colorado river in this canyon, but I added a waterfall that you drive basically under via a tunnel. I also added a road on the adjacent side of the river that's incredibly elevated and has lot's of bridges. Thus making it a circuit. 6. 100 Mile House This was released at some point and then removed. It's a very repetitive map with terrible roads. I was considering fixing all the roads and adding some variety and uniqueness. Once again, this entire post was made to hear the communities opinion, so don't be afraid to speak out to influence what I work on. 7. Agassiz Speedway You can download this map RIGHT NOW on the forums. I revisited it recently and made the sculptmap look much better so there's no dark spots from shadows. I also attempted a scenario. 8. (Just an idea.) @Ouerbacker gave me permission to use some of his snow textures, so I was considering making a switchback road up to a ski resort. I have the most drive to work on this one, but only because maps always look better in my head than it does when I create it. If you read all of this, thank you! I know it was a lot, but this is the development thread and I wanted to share what I've been working on. Please give me some feedback, either from commenting your own work and just leaving your opinion (I'd hate to fill up this thread with just random feedback), or just PM me what you think. I wish everyone happy holidays. Bye for now!
why cant I rate posts twice I agree and I think your mesh is awesome! OT: Slides very good Creator Advice: Be careful with throttle and gear ratio's if you equip the stage 3 variable boost turbocharger
scrap and combine the elements of 2 and 3, finish and combine 4 with 7, scrap 5, combine 1 and 6. gives you 3 maps instead of 7
Since you are the modeling god, why not make a even more 80's covet mixing it up with maybe a delorean and a foxbody mustang? I dont know but to my opinion those rims would look nice in that sort of thing.
more done. gonna take on the jbeam. sorry if im kind of spamming, will not post any more here for a while
