Well, I've finally started work on the wheels. Wheels are fun (except for the damn crossed spokes in an E30 wheel, god dammit BMW why did you have to use BBS wheels). (1,428 tris) When I finish the rim I'll learn to use shaders before taking a screenshot. No more crappy viewports! (No, the front fascia isn't finished, but it was pretty boring so I wanted to make something different, and I want to have the wheels in place before making the front of the frame as I found out my blueprint was almost 2cm longer than the actual wheelbase of the car)
With some spare time after I got home, I started on the engine bay and got it done, pretty satisfied. Now to fix the grille, stupid shading. (imported from here) (imported from here)
I guess you mean the Banpei? If so, that at the front is not the engine block, but rather the cover for the timing chain. The engine block looks like so: It may have the illusion of being too small, but keep in mind the cylinder head is rather large, being a wide valve angle twin cam. The width of the block is 100mm, to fit an 87mm bore, so there is ~6.5mm of space between the widest part of the cylinder and the edge of the block. Come to think of it, that may be too narrow. A 4A-GE looks to have a lot more than 6.5mm (more like 20mm). Time to re model ^-^
Finished "double-siding" the cab, ready for motor and interior. (imported from here) (imported from here) Damn frame clipping ;/ (imported from here)
Haha yeah, I scrolled through and saw another one of his comments & realized (First reply I've understood for a while)
