Gabe, how did you achieve that kind of reflectivity on the van body? I've been playing about with materials trying to get it, and I'm not having much luck. I can get reflectivity via cubemaps, however it horribly overrides the diffuse so I get a chrome body with the diffuse texture faintly visible below. What am I missing?

Im creating a terrain in T3D, experienced problems with reflectivity when addibg transparency to a material. You could also take in mind the different sky systems, those might effect too :)

It works pretty well when the object is transparent, I made a pretty nice windshield material by just using a cubemap in the materials editor. But when I try to apply the same kind of cubemap reflectivity to an opaque surface, that's where my troubles begin.

Torque has an incredibly strange way of applying reflections. The cubemap is hardcoded to be on layer 0, and you "cover" it with non-shiny pixels. So your alpha channel of your diffuse map should look something like an inverted specular map, where pure black is chrome and white is completely covering the cubemap.

I've been working on the interior for the van, I'll show it once it's in-game :)

Thanks for the reply! And damn you work fast, interior already? Whohooohh can't wait to see it. After you completed the interior and the boxtruck, will the Vanster be 100% done or are more things still planned?

Oh and something else: I suggest to start a new poll. 2 reasons not to keep the old one:

-80 people voted on the Vanster. All those people are going to vote for another vehicle
-You announced new cars in the blog after you started the first poll. Let's include the new cars in the poll!

There'll always be more stuff to do... maybe a giant spoiler and some stabilizing struts to turn the bare chassis cab into a racer ;) Or something like a flatbed or utility back would be doable.

You remember that Ford Transit where they put a Jag XJ220 chassis and engine underneath on Top Gear?

It might be cool to do something like that with a Bolide chassis, considering you have the whole parts-system thing it might not even be that hard to do?

Maybe you could make a tow truck out of the vanster.

Sounds great! But I meant the stock version. Will the stock version be completed after you have done the interior? I mean, will it be at the same development stage as the Grand Marshal for example?

That is great! Well done! And sorry for all these questions, but what are you planning to do next? After the interior? Again, sorry for these many questions

I'll either finish the interior for the Civetta Bolide or I'll put the Bruckell Moonhawk in-game (the frame and running gear are all modeled and ready to go).

Oh and I'll make the node/beam structure for the van's cargo box too, and texture it.

You should put the Bruckell Moonhawk in so you can make us more jealous.

I'd hate to sound like a jerk, but I think you should finish the vanster because if you start the moon-hawk you will want to finish it before the game release, and im sadly getting impatient. Iv'e saved up 300$ dollars for this game so im ready to buy ALL the DLC's or whatever you plan to do.:p

There's a lot more to do before releasing than just finishing vehicles (most of which I play no role in)

Please don't increase the price. 25-30 dollars is OK for this game ;) i think it's a fair price for an indie game.
