Unsolved does materials.cs still work?

so i am getting back into modding while im on summer vacation before i college, i havnt modded since materials.cs was being used and now main.materials.json is being used and its really confusing to me, can i still use materials.cs? or do i need to use main.materials and is there a tutorial on how to use the main.materials?

 

Yes, materials.cs still works. Though, using JSON files is ideal
