This is ilegal you know dev help hes not alowed to do someathing that was deemd impossible XD --- Post updated --- Wen do we get scratches im impressed aswell
The reason the paint was spilled was that there was a teenager at the local Tesco that could not get someone to purchase alcohol for him so he spilled paint on their car.
Thanks for all the positive comments, I will probably work on this again sometime next week, been kind of busy. I also have some other ideas for mods as well, and please suggest some if you have any! Someone asked a few questions about the textures; they are not textured meshes/decals, the mud particles are rendered on the skin layer of the vehicle's main body texture by a script. So that means for it to be added to other cars they need a proper UV map. Also someone asked if the mud particles glow in the dark, I assume because it's somewhat similar to a HTML texture used as a screen which has emissive properties; the answer is that they don't, thankfully. And yes, I used rather large 5 lug wheels lol. A lot of people asked this, I will try to explain it in a way that makes sense soon The list is great, I could look for certain functions since they have decently corresponding names as well as see their parameters. So I would say it is pretty useful.
this is amazing absolutely amazing if you made the dirt able to stick to wheels, you would probably become a staff member because of how well made this is
Interesting. So it wasn't impossible, it's just the devs are being lazy and focusing on other mundane things other than highly requested features that the community has been wanting for years. Now watch you get hired and made a dev just so the devs can skip out on doing this work themselves lmao. At least you're proving them wrong I suppose lmao, and potentially getting paid for doing so roflmao. Seeing that this was condemned impossible, so they said, I bet paint scratches aren't as impossible anymore either.
it wasn't impossible, just not high on their priority list of features. or it was impossible, back then, on an older more primitive build of the game's engine
Okay, what about recent times then? My points still counts. Their team is easily twice the size than let's say...back in 2014/15. They have the people, the capabilities and knowledge of knocking something like this out with ease. And it's clearly possible as seen here. All it took was one person - whom did all of this - in their spare time, in a coding language they did not have much experience in. These guys are lazy. It's very much possible to be done, this here proves it all. They have had multiple years to do it, but they rather stick to their lies I suppose.
there are far more important things than mud on vehicles, i.e making all of the game in pbr. which is a far more noticeable and bigger visual change, then there are all the remasters of the maps and cars. you are going to tell me mud on a vehicle is a better addition than new cars and remasters.
They never said it's impossible bruh, they just said it would look janky and be buggy, which both is true here, nobody is lying and nobody is being lazy here. They won't hire him because this is not up to their standards.
Being here since 2013, one should think you knew better. It's easy to just throw the DeVs ArE LaZY. It was never said it was impossible, obviously it is. Just like multiplayer is not impossible. It's just that BeamNG have standards to meet, which modders don't so they can get away with making this stuff.
It was never deemed impossible, just like airbags, scratches and everything else that the devs just don't have time for. They just know it'd be buggy and not up to their quality standards.
