Same thoughts here. Why even have any water in the game if there is no splash effects? Its not like the technology doesn't exist either. in fact, it is the one natural aspect that I think has been mastered in today's video games. This game has the water effects of a late 80's early 90's gaming technology.

I don't know why everyone's like "it's impossible" when clearly there is already some trace of it in the game. Notice how the water surface turns a whiter shade around vehicle parts. If it were more accented the faster you were going upon impact, it would create an illusion of impact force (and physically, since they added that in 0.8) rather than needing an actual splash image/particle. Stop saying it isn't possible when you have no idea whether or not it is possible. Only the devs know at this point since they haven't released the physics engine.

Now physical splashes are not currently possible with mods. Since the water surface is currently a plane with some custom physics emulation, there is no current way to make physical splashes because it is not a mesh. If it were a mesh, you would be able to "flex" the water depending on impact force, like in SpinTires. I do hope they add some sort of effect, no matter the size, to show that we have had physical contact with the water.

Did 90's game water have reflections? If you dont like the water just drive around in grid small pure. Im sure they will add splash effects eventually. And each game engine is different on some it might be easy to do it on others no.

Agreed, basically, they just haven't gotten around to it yet. Give it time and it will come.

There are traces of online multiplayer from the base T3D engine. That doesn't mean its easy to do. Of course i want water splash, but if it wasn't added yet into BeamNG, there must be a reason for it.
