Early Experimental Preview of Career Concept

I definitely didn't mean to give the impression that we're overly compartmentalized or that we need to jump up and down for attention. Right now, Career Mode is in the thick of developing more essential foundational systems, and there's already a solid roadmap in place for our vehicle team. So, when I joke about "tow truck when?" it's really just that—a playful nudge and a wink to them. I'm always saying the same with firetrucks and SWAT trucks; I can't resist mentioning them in meetings!

We're all incredibly passionate about the potential of what CAN be or SHOULD be, leading to an ever-expanding wish list. It's a challenge to balance the team's expertise and passion with the finite hours in our day. But it's a good problem to have, right?

When it comes to vehicle development, I get so absorbed in my work that I'd probably neglect my other responsibilities! I’m already juggling plenty of tasks, so I think it’s best to let our fantastic team handle it from the get-go. They’re the experts, after all, and I know better than to meddle in things I should probably just admire from afar!

 

The vehicle team does an outstanding job of managing their tasks AND side projects, though they're often operating at full capacity—another good problem to have!
Planning typically extends at least six months ahead, often even a year or more. If Career Mode ever absolutely needs a specific vehicle, configuration, or parts, I know the vehicle team could handle it. But I reserve those requests for emergency situations only!

 

There's a learning curve for sure, and unlike many other games, you will only excel if you are a mechanical engineer, car enthusiast, 3d modeler, and programmer! Four very distinct disciplines, which when combined come up with some pretty epic vehicles!
With the new tools the team is making are really starting to make jbeam editing and modification much more accessible to people! The livery/skin editor is also a leap forward! The tools are being made because the people are asking for them, and it's fantastic to watch from the sidelines. Great tools, make great games!

Some of us naturally maintain a great work/life balance. As for me, I'm all about the old-school approach: I work from the moment I wake up until I go to sleep. But it doesn't feel like work—it's a passion project! From checking work chats first thing in the morning after opening my eyes, to the last scroll through my phone at night, I'm always in "work mode." Career Mode seems straightforward on the surface, but under the hood it has many complex, evolving parts under the surface. As you might have guessed, I also love interacting with our community here, and occasionally, I drop a few teasers on random YouTube videos.

Things like this inspire me to focus on plans for "erratic" traffic behaviour to mimic real-life personalities.

On second thought, the AI is currently already doing a good enough job of that haha!
