That's so nice to hear, I'll pass this on to our concept artist as well, she did great stuff with the logos!

I quickly prototyped the system to get it off the ground a few months back, and here's a peek at how it looked until only three days before feature freeze:
    upload_2025-12-10_20-41-8.png

I do miss the shields, but the logos turned out exactly how I hoped: distinct enough to feel like real companies without taking over the game.

Insurance in real life always depends on the vehicle and how you use it. A daily driver policy won’t cover a heavy hauler you're keeping in the back garage, and prestige or collector cars usually need or benefit from specialist coverage. Giving each type its own tiered, believable options felt essential, and that hasn't changed.

The part I enjoy most is how the multi-vehicle discount works exactly like the real world. Add a $1,000 beater to an existing policy with a $400,000 vehicle and the whole fleet immediately gets the group discount. A lot of people do that trick in real life to save thousands. It only works one way though; you can’t insure the cheap car first and then add the expensive one and feel the same level of savings haha.

Coverage is split into five tiers based on total fleet value (0-50k, 50-100k, and so on). Anything over $500k caps the multi-vehicle discount at 30%. That allows for some sly strategy: one company might offer much lower deductibles, another might give instant repairs, and sometimes it’s cheaper to keep everything on one policy for the tier bonus, sometimes it makes more sense to split a particular vehicle onto its own policy to get the perk you actually want for that specific vehicle.

On top of that there’s now a Driver’s Abstract page that shows money spent, money saved, your current driving score, and the option to reset the record if things have gone badly for you. Rates react to your record just like real insurance: clean driving saves a lot, lots of crashes or tickets and the price climbs fast.

0.37 made insurance simple and a lot of people hated it (though a few mentioned they didn't mind). With 0.38 we’ve effectively given both groups what they wanted: full negotiation when buying and selling, deeper ownership options for people who enjoy tinkering, and for everyone else the whole system still runs automatically in the background with zero interaction required.

Thank you so much krallopian and everyone else involved, career mode is insane now! The negotiating part also just made me like this game from 110% to 145% lol. I'll have to play myself to give any feedback, but I just wanted to say one minor thing for now. The traffic lights on WCUSA and ECUSA are still bad and don't have the halogen system. If it doesn't tank FPS, I would love this soon! (I know it's a little detail, but talk about devs and small details! :p)

That's great to hear, we'll 145% all day haha! Thank you :)

Regarding the lighting system, what do you mean specifically regarding the halogen system? You mean the lights fading on and off when they switch from red/green/yellow, or do you mean they aren't casting actual light into the world?

Thanks for the quick and kind response! About the lighting system, I mean the lights fading off and on when they switch to red, green, and yellow. I live in S.F. and many street lights have not been converted to LED lights yet so they still fade. This would look awesome since I do a lot of roleplay and realistic career mode sessions!

I love that level of attention to detail, the way the traffic lights work now are quite "unique" but I'll throw this idea out there and see if we can make something happen! Great idea, thanks for sharing =)

Is it possible to not have insurance now? I would like to give myself the challenge of needing to pay for any damages outright, and if I do that paying insurance fees would be pointless.

Awesome, I was hoping that would be possible.

Meant to like post btw, don't know why it won't let you anymore.

Yes, the insurance system has received a really amazing update. She's wonderful.
It's great to see that the developers are listening to the community and feedback!

Also, we are waiting for the further expansion of the career mode. For example, you can combine several maps from the free mode. Italy and the new quarry should perfectly integrate into the delivery mode. Also, there are many things that were mentioned above, so that the career mode is more thoughtful, polished and it can always be interesting to play (replayability). Elements of randomness also provide this (for example, the procedural generation of various subsystems (auto, landscape, and so on).

In any case, many thanks for your hard work!

I've noticed a recurring glitch when delivering bulk materials. "Confirm Selection" in the drop-off screen will prompt to a Lua Error (see screenshot). The drop-off pop-up will remain on-screen and no further missions will be able to be completed. Happened to me with bulk aggregates both at Sealbrik and City Construction Site, on two different saves.

First of all, LOVE the career mode updates and general polish the game has been getting! Got the game way back in 2015, so seeing it change over the years has been awesome. After .38 update, I can pretty much play without ever needing to touch the keyboard or mouse.
    A few bugs I've run into;
    1. When starting missions (specifically the parking missions in my case) sometimes the camera will stay in the intro cinematic after starting until I hit the change camera button.
    2. The UI seems to switch between the preset I have in Freeroam and the default with the minimap. I actually prefer the new Career preset, but I couldn't figure out to get it to consistently stick with one or the other. Sometimes I'd load in, and it would have mine, then switch to the career one after a few missions, sometimes the opposite.
    3. When exiting a mission, the controller bindings don't interact with the pop-up mission menu until you hit B.
Again though, these are such minor things, and I really can't stress enough how much fun I've been having with every new update! Keep up the good work, and hopefully you all get a well deserved break over the holidays!

I have an idea for the new bartering system, to add little messages to go with the person you talk to, and the ability to type to the buyer/seller. I am not talking about a full chat bot, just prewritten responses. A set of different responses for different levels of patience, and to it recognizes rude or polite words to decide how much more patience the buyer/seller has.

For example a set of 4 responses per level of patience, and 4 levels of patience. The less patience the ruder the response. And it can recognize rude words like "No" or swearwords and other rude words to lower patience. An obviously censer any racist words, and if you say something super out of pocket you automatically lose the deal.

    Example:

    Buyer:
    Hey could we do $1250?
    You
    No, that's such a damn lowball. $2100

Since my response used the word "damn" and "lowball" it brings down the patience by more.

A simpler way to do this would be prewritten responses, but thats not as fun. Obviously a little complex but it would make it very immersive.

Gonna message every seller "Hey is this available" and then never reply.
