NOTE: This mod will be currently unavailable until adaptation for the current game version has been carried out, as the recent update to 0.33 has drastically reduced the performance of this mod. Hey guys, this is my first ever mod, East Coast USA Improved. In this mod I've reworked a lot of the textures, updating them to PBR, changing reflective properties, (I have not replaced any of the original textures, just improved the current ones significantly) and so on. I've improved the appearance of the water and graphics with better lighting, higher res shadows and better clouds. I've also added dynamic street lighting, I will be getting around to improving other available vanilla BeamNG maps, so sit tight for updates on that. I have now added a new map to the collection, Italy! its still a WIP, but you can get to it by following this link. NOTES: The street lighting has now been updated to be dynamic! There are two versions of this map, "east_coastimpovedHQ.zip" the High Quality version of this map, meaning that the fidelity is the highest available for this mod, and if your PC isn't capable of running the Ultra graphics preset easily already, then consider installing the lower quality Performance version of this map named "east_coastimprovedPERF.zip" If you have already made changes to this map, and you want to install this mod, you will need to delete or move the existing "east_coast_usa" level user file in order to not cause any conflicts with the mod and your version of the map. And yes, for anyone wondering if this works with BeamMP, it does. HOW TO INSTALL: 1. Download the file attached in this post 2. Unzip the folder you just installed and take out the folder inside named: "east_coast_usa" 3. Put "east_coast_usa" in C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.30\levels 4. Done! Enjoy your new enhanced version of East Coast USA! OPTIONAL EXTRA: As you may have noticed, a large majority of those screenshots had Reshade, or maybe you hadn't noticed? But anyway, I will upload my Reshade preset to go with the mod if you'd like to use it! Though the mod does not require Reshade.
Could you help me? I couldn't find Beamng folder in C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.30\levels at all.
when you launch the game, if you click on the "open user folder" option, it'll take you straight to the 0.30 folder, from there you then need to click on the "levels" folder and drop the mod into there.
Hi, I am also unable to find the C:\Users\YOURNAME\AppData\Local\BeamNG.drive\0.30\levels folder within BeamNG. I used the launcher to locate my user folder but there is not a "levels" folder. Do I create one? Thanks!
When you launch the game, the launcher will come up with different options, if you click on the "Manage User Folder" option it'll take you straight to 0.30, then you can drop the file into "levels", if it is not there, you could try creating one yes.
oh interesting.. sorry, im not well equipt enough for Reshade to help with that. are you sure you installed it correctly?
Hello everyone, I've just made a quick and minor change to the mod, I've decreased the brightness of the "eca_fabric_generic" material which is used on the tents and covered up cars you see scattered around the map to make it less extremely blinding in direct sunlight. I've also added a new light to the offroad dealership shed. and made various small adjustments.
Hey everyone, I've just updated the mod with the now latest version. I've added more lighting to the gas stations I've also further improved and added lighting for other various buildings scattered around the map
oooooooh thank you, I certainly will when I start working on the map again --- Post updated --- Hey to everyone who attempted to install the Reshade preset, I've now realised why it didnt work, and have uploaded the correct file and also made some minor tweaks to it. So I hope this works, Enjoy! Oh yeah, and if you do use the Reshade preset, I recommend using the SMAA in-game antialiasing.
Hi, I noticed that on your map kind of does not turn off the lights during the daytime from this FPS drops. Here is the file you need to paste in this path (levels\east_coast_usa). Field this, create an auto_lights folder and move all the lights there.
yes, I did say that I hadn't yet figured out how to make the lights dynamic, however, does this file go into the core files or the user files?
