With the latest updates, hidden LED flashers are awesome. However they're limited to some vehicles. So as an addon, you would be able to animate, change the light colours. Thus able to create gif like animations for the flashers ingame while it checks the colour of the flasher and once the emergency lights are active you can have custom flashing with your chosen colours. This would fit any Lightbars, bumper lights and any available emergency lights. The mod UI would be in the vehicle editing under lightbar/emergency to allow for on the fly editing once it's saved. This would allow creators to have their own chases or road work Vehicles. Creating the gif animation would rely on the base colour. Say [Blue]/[White]/[Red]/[White]/[Blue] lightbar. You could make both [Blue] lightbars flash twice before flashing [white] once and [red] flashing twice after white. Apply it and hit your ELights key and it will flash in said order repeatedly.
Do you by any chance play the game 'Flashing Lights'? If so, I like what you're saying, and it would be great. HOWEVER, they'd have to program so many lights - that'd probably be an update in and upon itself - like it was for Flashing Lights. I think a realistic timeline at this point is probably after Ver. 1.0. If beamNG keeps coming out with amazing content like a literal playground for cars and filling in all the gaps in car types available, I won't expect things like until it hits that stage - when we have everything else we need
The modding may take a while, since there's a lot of those lights. For now some customisable lights would work. New flashing lights that got added are very good for now. If any modder would make it easier by making a UI for this with just drag and drop to create said animations. However the AI needs to be worked on before the lights since, yeah hmmmmmmmmmm.
