    New year, new thread :)

Have been working on a little tool to help fine tune engine sounds :)

This adjusts the already existing jbeam parameters in realtime as you drag the sliders. :)

Finally some new engine sounds! The actual with the same sound for a I6 and a V6 is starting to get a bit ... "old" :D

is this realtime as in realtime or every-time-you-touch-something-it-does-control-r-which-causes-lots-of-pauses like the realtime menu in tuning :p

thats cool, similar to how LFS does it with the Shift+S or whatever menu that is.

that realtime option for tuning should be burned in hell, probably one of the most useless things ever.

Is this tool just to assist in creating engine sounds, or is it something that will be entering into gameplay?

This is purely for making vehicle creation easier.

jesus you have no idea how badly i've been wanting this.

will you be able to change the actual sound on the fly too, as in the samples the car uses, or just modify the sample you are already using.
example, could i change the v8 sound to a v10 sound in real-time too, or just fine-tune the v8 sound?

also will there be a way to overwrite unofficial content and save your engine sounds to your engine? or will we have to manually re-edit the files

You say that this can update the JBeam file in real time?! Could this possibly lead to other real time JBeam modification tools as well? Or do you think that this will probably be about as far as real time JBeam modification will go seeing as this doesn't actually affect the structure of the vehicle any?

No, it doesn't change the jbeam files, just the same stuff that can also be changed in jbeam, so that you can later when you are happy with the result apply the settings to the jbeam file.

Really glad to see this, some of the engines like the SBR-4 and even the inline 6 for the LTK and so on aren't bad sounding, but others really could use some mixing / tuning. The inline 4's are one of the worst culprits, have had a very hard time enjoying any of them because they have super loud mid range volume at like 6-8k RPM and it just drowns out everything else, twice the volume it is below that RPM, and so on and so forth. The major improvements you guys have made already have SIGNIFICANTLY helped with driving feel, and situational awareness. I can't wait to see what the future brings!

    .

Well that's better than nothing. Honestly any tool that allows me to adjust things without reloading the vehicle is a plus in my book for sure!

Can N/B structures be edited in this manner?

Well at least they don't all have the same engine sound like they did in the past.

May I ask for some sort of frequency graph too? So we could actually see which frequencies are at what volume at given time?
So far it looks really nice though.

Also when I was searching through .lua files (as I do after each update) I found out that there parameters for Intake and exhaust Muffling. What do they do? - while exhaust muffling I guess has some sort of co relation to the ability to add exhaust sounds, the intakeMuffling seems kinda weird, as we're not able to add intake sounds from what I know.

No, that's not possible. There is no actual audio information outside of FMOD.

Thanks for info, I guess I'll have to continue looking for some external software that is able to display audio output frequency on a graph in real time.
