Great work on the mod! I was searching for something like this for a while and found this. The covet sounds great, reminds me of my i3 Yaris. Keep up the good work!
Is there a possibility that you could add separate engines instead of overwriting the engines entirely?
that would only be necessary if this was on the repo, which is why most sound mods uploaded there use that system. i just dont think its worth it and it keeps the mod size down
While true, at some times it is inconvenient and makes it incompatible with other mods. I’m not saying you have to, but for some, it would be beneficial.
thats fair, maybe in another update ill do it but im still working on bettering the mod as a whole right now
most of the i4s use an ej25 sound from engine sim for the exhaust. it just happens to be the highest quality way to get exhaust sound since its so incredibly hard to find the right ones on youtube. heck, some i4s even use a hayabusa sound for the exhaust lmao --- Post updated --- do you have some samples or a video i could use? since i havent been able to find any that are usable, besides using engine sim
This Japanese YouTube channel I have been following for a while has quite a good selection of engine bay recorded engine sounds. As I'm not exactly an audio expert or anything, I'll just drop some links to the videos here for the variations you could get. (ROTARY!) (2 stroke 3 cylinder engine, straight out of a Suzuki SJ30 Jimny)
ive actually used a lot from that channel in my mod lol (for example my "hondastream" and "4age" sounds) i agree its very good. only issue is some of them are interior recordings which are far too muffled to put ingame. the channel does have underhood mics, but only sometimes, and not with all the cars they do (which is annoying)
Oh that's nice, I have not digged out the files contained within your mod so I didn't know you've already been using sound clips from there haha. Theres actually a sister YT channel from that where i think there should be more variety over there i assume. The last i remember was the fantastic M130i recording they once did. https://youtube.com/@betabumi-ch
cause its all i have to work with. i would use an i4 sound if i could, but i cant find any good sounding ones on youtube, or engine sim. plus, that was the old ej25 sound from engine sim which sounds more like an i4 than a b4 to be fair and after all, its not a real engine so all that matters is if it sounds right. right?
do you have any specific videos in mind with maybe an engine bay or exhaust mic? --- Post updated --- New update out on the 1st page, changelog is also on the 1st page.
