best i could do with the videos i found. the only way i could get it better is if i recorded it myself but, news flash, i dont have access to a 100k+ supercar just to record sounds lmao --- Post updated --- and i didnt think it looped poorly, i spend most of my time on this mod making sure that the sounds loop as best as they can. the issue comes when there isnt a long enough period of acceleration to take the sound from so you end up having a short file that loops more noticably. the whole business of making a sound mod really is extremely difficult if you can believe it lol
If you want I can help you with more videos of specific sounds. And you can still use some of the V10 sounds I sent, one of the LFA contains only the exhaust sound and the panel to help in sync on sound + rpm
That would be sick, but maybe use the ford 427 sound instead for the Gavril 423 that's in the Barstow, Bluebuck, and the Burnside Special
i dont need help with syncing the RPM since i already use engine sim/automation for that, but thanks anyways and if you have any good videos for an engine sound that hasnt already been added then youre welcome to send any you want --- Post updated --- send me some good quality videos or even dyno footage if you have it, id be happy to implement these since its very highly requested
i tried to find the best of the best sound for you German V8: (have gosebumps) Japanese V8: Italian V8: American V8: Inline 6T: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zTgQOjLS1_M&ab_channel=HMSPerformance V6: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zx-uR8BMygs&ab_channel=Magz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9KpFXMkKNuk&ab_channel=PlanetNooj https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A6sDue2YbFY&ab_channel=AdminTuning
The one for the Buffalo is amazing quality. I'd be offended if that didn't get used. (not really) The Slamvan is great for a straight-piped V8.
The original sounds are from Sound Ideas and are probably even higher quality. I don't know how you can get access to them/buy them, because you can buy them. But when I tried to, they wanted me to make an account and then make a company or something, and then they had to "authorize" me to access anything. Which they declined. But the actual sounds I'm willing to bet are even higher quality.
those arent usable im affraid, the mic needs to be positioned on the exhaust or in the engine bay, not while the car is driving away. since of course, the sound of a car changes drastically when its a few hundred feet away. the conditions when recording for a sound mod need to be veeeery specific and controlled. thats why they only way you can get it sounding 100% right is if you record it yourself with specific circumstances for the engine in mind (which is what most games like Forza do) --- Post updated --- these could be useful, although they werent recorded with detailed FMOD sound structures in mind (usually gta cars only have a couple of files for idle, high revs etc) but the quality is good so as i say, they could be useful.
It was exactly what I was looking for for you, videos with the cameras on the bumper to capture the sound of the exhaust, the C63 is my favorite
It'd be better to just rip the sounds straight from the game. Which I've already done. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/1uFfuDuesBnFG6ZjRaPAZBWvj9DZe4s3x?usp=sharing So here's the thing about Half-Life's sounds. If you open up the .wavs in a program like Wavosaur, you can see markers added. These markers define the looping region of the sound. So instead of storing the loops as separate files, they're a part of the .wav itself. Only Wavosaur can see these (as well as add/edit/remove markers) from what I can tell. Audacity and other programs can't. So if you just want the looping part of a sound, you can open it in Wavosaur then double-click the waveform before the first marker to select that part and then press the Del button to delete it, isolating the loop part itself. If you want to remove the loop part and just have the beginning bit, you double-click the loop section to select it and then press Del. Then you can save it (just remember to save it under a different name from the original so it's not overwritten). Of course, I can do this myself if people want me to.
So nice sounds! This video could be used to do car and truck horns too @Born 2 Drive Beamng needs more horns and sounds, like I said on update thread, hope devs will listen this request
idk if horn sounds can be easily edited since they are "events" and not actual sounds technically (not replacable in the same way as engine sounds) but i absolutely agree the default horns and other random sounds kinda succ
Yeah custom horn mods are super easy to make, I actually ported all the horns from Forza Horizon 4 a while ago since it was so simple
