I would love to see the 1992 - 1995 Pessima as a Non-Traffic Car as well, ever since there was one planned originally to be in BeamNG officially but got scrapped
I'm loving the traffic variety!! Amazing looking models even for traffic, and tons of creativity! I'm loving the pack and good job!! This is the only picture I have whoops
I am aware of the current shortage of vehicle models. We have various ideas in the works—including current models or the previous generation of the Covet, a European-made van to succeed the H Series, and a cab-over-engine medium-duty truck—but since there are many other things we want to do as well, I cannot make any firm promises regarding when these will be added. In any case, I’m not exactly a fast worker, so I would appreciate it if you could be patient. As with other simplified traffic vehicles, you cannot purchase this one via Carrier or RLS. This is because it isn’t really suited for driving on your own. If you want to drive it yourself, scroll all the way to the bottom of the vehicle selector screen in free roam, and you should find “Expanded Traffic Vehicles.” It took me about a year to build this, but since my schoolwork is going to get busier from now on, it will be difficult to keep up this pace of development. Thanks to the standardized JBeam, which eliminates the need for internal details, this was much easier to build than a typical car. That’s why I, as a modding beginner, chose to create a simplified vehicle. Finally, thank you to everyone who’s been enjoying this!
Cool mod, and nice to see a lore-friendly vehicles traffic pack! Your modern D-series reminds me quite a bit of a Dodge Ram, given the vaguely trapezoidal/hexagonal grill and the horizontal headlights: Spoiler Given that another modder is working on a D-series that looks more like the F-150, you might want to consider rebadging yours to "Bruckell" (the Dodge equivalent brand in BeamNG). Would make for an interesting in-lore rivalry and make sure that people who play with the drivable D-series don't have a different pickup in traffic that is also called a Gavril D series. Looking forward to your additions to Japan and Europe!
Been hoping someone would come out with a lore friendly traffic mod, the stuff here looks pretty decent and adds to the traffic a lot. great work (though I would be a bit cautious with overwriting all the official traffic info files, that seems like it could very easily completely break either this or the stock traffic system the second they get changed in a future update so something to consider, especially as more configs/changes/additions/improvements are still planned on that side )
i will just drive them around myself cause they look really cool and i wish those cars were all modeled with complete interior etc as seperate mods
I think the original SUV and Pessima are so well made that it's a shame they're only appearing in Traffic. I really like it!
Hey えすつーけー/S2K, I've been messing around with your Expanded Traffic pack and really like it, especially the 2022 pickup. I'm learning how jbeam and vehicle files work and I'd like to use the pickup as a starting point for a mod of my own, with changes to the handling, engine and body. Before I do anything with it, I wanted to ask first: would you be okay with me using parts of it (the jbeam files and/or the model) as a base, and releasing the result as a separate mod? If yes, I'd credit you clearly on the page and link back to your pack. If there's anything you don't want me to touch or reuse, just let me know and I'll leave it out. If you'd rather I keep it to private use only, that's totally fine too. Thanks for making the pack!
This pack is exactly what I needed to fill up my parking lots with modern cars that won't tax my system heavily.
If you plan on making a modern truck, and plan on making it a Gavril, that's already being made; https://www.beamng.com/threads/2021-2028-gavril-d-15.110058/ So if you move forward with that, it'd be nice to see a lore-friendly RAM or Silverado, possibly a Bruckell. Just a thought.
Yeah, and it's a shame that the 1992 - 1995 Pessima (which it's coincidentaly like the cut generation of the Pessima that was gonna be in BeamNG Officially) also unfortunately stays downgraded as traffic
I understand that this mod may stop working in future updates. Even while developing this mod, I had to fix several issues caused by game updates. However, I chose this approach for practical reasons: first, because the currently used PaintLibraries don’t seem to allow for individual color appearance probabilities to be set; and second, to exclude colors that are too flashy—such as the I-Series yellow—which have no IRL counterparts. Enabling “Use smart selection of vehicles,” “Use simplified vehicles,” and “Allow mods to spawn” under Option > Traffic should cause RLS vehicles to appear as traffic, but I was unable to confirm this because the RLS mod did not work in my setup. Additionally, the bug where parked vehicles are limited to official content models is likely to persist. Thank you for confirming this. If you’re using it in that way, you’re basically free to use all of these contents. However, since this is based on official content, please refrain from repurposing it for games other than BeamNG. I’d appreciate it if you could include credits and a link. I’m rooting for your work! Finally, I am aware that many of you are dissatisfied with the traffic-only model. The reason I created it as a traffic model was primarily to avoid complex JBeam adjustments and detailed modeling, so that even modding beginner like me could create a large number of vehicles in a short amount of time. However, as part of future developments, I might consider creating a derivative version that’s easier to drive (though I can’t promise anything, just to be clear ).
These are really nice, it's great to have more traffic vehicles that are realistic but still respecting the lore of the game. I see that some of the vehicles like the D-Series have skin support. Do you happen to have a skin UV template available for the vehicles?
I'm sorry, but as things stand, even car models that come with skins mostly have terrible UV maps, which aren't very suitable for applying complex skins. If you're willing to wait, I may release a fix that corrects the UV maps so they're easier to work with when creating skins.
