the closeness in chassis codes says otherwise, the sixth generation 7 series is G11 and G12(LWB models) and the 8 series from the same generation is the G14(Convertible), G15(Coupe), and G16(Gran Coupe/Fastback Sedan). Typically when BMW puts their chassis codes this close together means that they are very similar if not basked on the same underlying platform. Plus the 5-Series from the same ish years is the G30(Sedan) and G31(Wagon).
yeah but its not though, a 7 series is a 7 series and 8 series is a 8 series. like saying the a 4 door fiesta is a focus . its not
I don’t think a shorter wheelbase coupe version of this would be too far out. I don’t expect it at all, but it certainly could happen.
yeah probably, it would require new frame, possibly interior and what not, the 7 series doesn't have another body types so it might as well be a entirely different ETK model ,that's if you want to follow realistic car model system like modders seem to be replicating of course ( idk what the technical term is). but saying all that, I don't have any issue with other body types for the 900. look at the 800 mods for example haha
I'd like to say that I don't think the 900-Series name makes a lot of sense, it would give ETK's lineup zero structure as far as size goes and stuff. The 800-Series is sized similarly to the BMW 3-Series. The 800-Series is on the smaller side of vehicles one would expect ETK to make, so we could potentially assume that ETK's lineup starts at 900 with the smallest vehicle (more than likely a 1/2 Series-sized vehicle) and the model number gets smaller the larger this vehicle gets. If we also assume that the 800-Series also contains a coupe/sedan version, not needing the 700-Series name for the coupe, then we could put the 5-Series sized model/I-Series successor as the ETK 700-Series. If it's separate body styles get the same treatment as the 800-Series, then that would place this vehicle (currently named the 900-Series) in the 400-Series slot. A whole bunch is missing from the 100 to 500-Series, so maybe we can assume SUVs and Crossovers go there. Sports cars may stick with the letter naming scheme. so the K-Series can stay as it is. I don't at all mind if you leave this as the 900-Series, it's just my two cents that it doesn't make a whole lot of sense. TBH I think ETK's vehicles could do with a rebranding, the current lineup doesn't make all that much sense. Letters and numbers for model names don't make much sense. TL;DR ETK's naming scheme seems weird and could use a redo.
no wonder so many WIP mods never get released, so many people just complain. constructive criticism is very good but this post clearly ain't that. (BTW car looks amazing keep up the great work)
proportion related things are practically unfixable at this stage. Hope you enjoy the mod though when it comes out.
welp, guess that explains a lot. gotta say, the mod looks lovely right now, i wonder what it will look like in its finished state
also have you thought of what the gauges will look like? are you going for a more of a modern BMW style or more of a traditional one?
