Upgraded to 10 and the only 3 things I don't like are how small the taskbar buttons are, how there is no transparency at all to the taskbar (makes it hard to see outlines of some of my icons.) and the "search the web and windows" thing. I wish it was optional to make the fullscreen start menu default on one monitor. My smaller 1280x1024 secondary monitor was great for that.
Kinda nervous about upgrading, never have upgraded my PC to a new OS Before I haven't received an update yet though ._. For whoever has got it, does it work nicely? - - - Updated - - - Yay, so now i need to wait for a notification to upgrade. Watched video's and i can downgrade back to Windows 7 or 8 Within 1 month if i don't like windows 10. Sigh of relief - - - Updated - - - Great, update failed, what a delight ._.
Okay, so since I didn't appear for me, I'm gonna install all updates I can find, and hope that that'll make it show up. If it doesn't I'll just go cry. (jk) --edit-- I got it to work via, that command prompt logoster linked. Yay!
No update for me I guess... Not been able to get this GWX program to run from the beginning... O well. fuckin microsoft...
You can download the media creation tool here: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10 It allows you to download the ISO-file and make a bootable USB/DVD, there is no need to bother with the GWX-app. Remember to select upgrade the first time you install, and just skip the step where you have to fill in a product key. Win 10 should be activated if you had a valid Win7/8.1 installation before upgrading. After this you can choose to do a clean install if you wish.
When I try to find updates I get the error 8024402F. I tried EVERYTHING to fix the error. I was like 2 hours trying to find any solution but nothing
I'm writing this using the new Edge thing, and I have to say, it's quite an improvement over IE. The best thing is thst the tabs don't change from blue to ping and so on anymore when you press MMB to open a new tab. Also, dxdiag shows DX12. WOOB WOOB!
The blue to pink thing was a feature. Seriously, look at what tabs it assigns what colour, its a grouping thing. Same site gets assigned same colour, that way you can see at a glance that anything highlighted green is BeamNG related.
Start menu is back <3 Also, you can have several desktops, like in linux. Parameters have all merged in the same location, and all that used to be in control panel seems to be there. For me, it installed perfectly fine and the performance is similar to before. Also, my new AMD GPU drivers are DX12 ready ! yay ! EDIT : Control panel still exists, it is just hidden behind that parameters thing
How dare they put candy crush on my tablet. Microsoft you swines. Not even google try and pull moves like that. But i am finding it fairly nice to use. I am using it in desktop mode on my tablet since that seems to function nicely. I managed to get it to install once i had freed up a lot more space on the c drive. I am finding that its almost always faster to use google now on my phone and the results are generally more accurate. Especially since cortana just told me that its bright and clear outside when it is dark and raining. Google got cloudy as the result with the time slider showing that it will start raining very soon.
