    thanks,just updated, here are the results:
    OpenXR toolkit+ PimaxXR runtime = crash to desktop when enabling VR
    OpenXR toolkit+ SteamVR as OpenXR runtime = game works but OpenXR toolkit overlay in game wouldn't show up
    I can turn parallel projection off in my Pimax settings now, which is good, but UI is still misaligned from left eye to right eye
    game is now still pretty prone to crash even under the VRAM limit.

    If you haven't yet, try starting the game, then activate VR from the main menu before loading into a level. For me, the game is unplayable if I try launching VR after loading a map, have to do it before. Not sure if it's like that for everyone but it is consistent for me.

    For me vr runs perfectly, nice and stable 90 fps except on west coast usa and a few big maps, Utah and smaller maps/less populated maps run fine.
    My pc isn't even that special, the game is on hdd also, still plays perfect

    Yeah im on the latest version, thanks but didnt resolve, made thing weirder, spawned the camera some random point up high, could not even see the car.

    Oops, never mind, thanks it worked ! I just had to use my fullsize keyboard to do the key combo.

    I do that yet traffic kills it
    It cant run any vanilla map, just the autobahn (im quite alr with it)
    But yet, i might need the index

    Ok, Im asking here to see if anyone has any similar issues.
    When I press the button to start VR either in the menu or the keyboard shortcut, when I click Ok it closes the menus and does nothing else, no VR. I dont have anything open other than Oculus and SteamVR either, Ive also tried deleting all mods, Deep Cache clearing and verifying game files, still nothing.

    Does anyone have any solutions as it works in Safe Mode, just very laggy due to the Debug Mode also being activated in safe mode.

    If it helps here are my PC Specs:
    MSI B450-A MAX PRO
    AMD Ryzen 5 3600
    MSI RX 6600 XT MECH 2X 16GB VRAM (8GB + Smart Access Memory)
    Kingston 500GB SSD (86GB Of space left)
    32GB DDR4 RAM
    Oculus Rift CV1

    I have similar problem. What I need to do is sometimes restart the game couple of times, or restart oculus itself (close it via process explorer)

    Thanks for the info. I will see if I can disable OpenXR for everything but msfs. Actually not even there I use it anymore for anything but showing the fps.

    When I get home I'll also try OpenXR-vk-D3D12 as it could translate vulkan calls to DirectX to save some precious VRAM which OpenXR SteamVR runtime wastes.

    I start the game in Vulkan, start Steam VR, load the map and when I activate VR mode the information window appears but nothing happens.

    If I have Steam VR open before the game, it starts on a virtual desktop and does not give me the option to choose vulkan mode.

    I haven't managed to get it working in any way yet.

    Alright so I tried this out for a bit and I have to say it's absolutely amazing and extremely well optimized for what it is. It runs perfectly fine on my PC which isn't amazingly good (R7 5700X, RX6950XT with 16GB VRAM, 32GB DDR4), and I can easily stay over 120fps at 1.5x resolution on my Quest 2.

    The only thing I dislike is that it feels like you're fixed in place when you're inside a car. There's absolutely no feeling of inertia at all and it gets quite uncomfortable after a while. I'd love to see specific camera settings for VR so that you can still keep the "fix to horizon" and natural yaw that the newer "follow drift" setting achieves. As well as the basic inertia-based camera movements.

    Other than that it's amazing for what it is and I can't wait to see what the future will bring for VR :)

    Another heads up: we just released a second hotfix, BeamNG.drive v0.30.2, with a couple extra fixes of known VR issues. We'll continue working on polish for future versions :)

    It's already out. You may need to restart Steam for it to realize there's another hotfix.

    Good news! I was able to get reflections working with x512 resolution and 350m range. The secret key is to jump into VR BEFORE LOADING A MAP. So go to VR in the main menu, just after you start the game. I noticed no FPS impact on that.
    That being said, traffic nukes the FPS hard. So for now its just yolosolo driving

    VR doesn't work at all for me. If I try and open BeamNG while SteamVR is open (it's not in the VR Menu in SteamVR), It just launches it in the home theater. If I go into the game and then Press Ctrl+Numpad0, it does nothing.

    GOOD NEWS! Reinstalling fixed it, however now my game runs worse in every conceivable way at the same settings, so Ill have to try and figure that out.

    Also is 24fps normal for a computer with similar specs? upload_2023-9-21_18-11-37.png

    I am using valve index with rx 6800 and 5800x3d procesor. vr works fine when im in the car not driving but when i go i can drive meby 5 m before the whole game just freezes. I had one suksesfull drive but it was with out sounds and no wheel. the other defrenc betwen these attemps was that steam vr was not open in the not freezing one while i opend the game, steam vr only turned on when i pressed vr in settings. but to get sound you need steam vr open when you start the game then it freezes when i drive(sorry for bad english)I can send video iff needed and crash report when i click close program.

    So happy to be playing beamng drive again since my rig is now VR only! I put my settings on low and mesh distance to normal and I'm getting very playable framerates with only 8gb vram (ryzen 7700x, 3070 ti). Also love that you went for stereoscopic mirrors since even iracing doesn't have that, last I checked. A few things I wish for:

    • Lock to horizon on pitch / roll for reasonable angles. Others have mentioned this, it feels like I'm sitting in a still car with a bumpy world outside otherwise
    • Ability to remap entering VR button for those without keyboards near their wheels
    • Loading screens rendered to vr would be nice since I start the game in VR and then never leave, but this is low priority for sure
    • Not sure how this works under the hood exactly, but it would be nice to set steamVR as the openXR...thing through beamng instead of having to make it the default for all software since I'm on WMR
    • Edit: narrow field of view during crashes may help some with motion sickness, as is a feature in dirt rally 2.0. I personally wouldn't want this to be on, but it would be a good feature to have
    • Edit: as mentioned, pop in distance is very short, so I keep getting jumpscared by barriers. This would be a good setting to have independent of other settings. Also tree pop distance and the like would be nice on a separate slider to the other detail settings
    • Edit: are savable loadable settings configs a thing? Would love seeing this in game since VR setting vs 2d settings are wildly different. Would also like to see a dedicated config available for VR so when you switch between them it automatically adjusts your settings
