This map is awesome, i drove around for a good hour, and I think I haven't seen the full map yet. Awesome!
Very fun map. I don't quite like the green texture, but I don't really notice it once I am playing. Amazing trails that remind me of some places I've been, though not nearly as fast. The large trail is smooth enough to run the Civetta Bolide on until after the wooden bridge. Then it progressively get more challenging for more capable vehicles. I especially like the first trail. If you take a right, go over the creek, continue straight and follow the left curve, then take the first small trail on the right. It's really challenging at times and at other times easy enough to get me to do dumb stuff. The steep switchbacks at the end of that are my favorite part so far. I still have lots of exploring to do, but overall this map is very fun. Thanks! Also if I downloaded the full, then I don't need to download the Final_Update correct? That's just for users who had the previous version?
That's correct it's just to update anyone's previous version. Thanks for the feed back I am glad you enjoy the map. I left a few of areas a little blank of trees and grass in the end as I dont have a high end computer and it was beginning to suffer frame rate's. It was a good learning project tho as my first map.
Hi i seem to be getting some really odd texture bug any idea on how to fix it here are some screen shots. Ignore the message that's just from me pressing F10
Not sure whats going on there, did you have have the map installed before the last patch maybe you will need to delete the old hills folder and unzip it fresh into levels.
No i only got this game a week or so ago and forgot to look on forums only just downloaded this today.
I think I know what happened, you possibly downloaded the file final update and not the full version then put the files into a folder named hills. I managed to reproduce the same look by doing that. Try copying and merging the art folder from Dry_Rock_Island into the art folder in your Hills folder you will then need to replace the materials.cs file in the art/terrains folder with the one from the update zip as it is different from the dry_rock_island one or you will need to download the full version, no need for the update file that is just for bringing an earlier version of the map up to date with the new full version. unfortunately the server seems really slow atm I might look at another download site to mirror this one.
Hey great map i really love it! its challenging! but i got a few bugs simliar to the last guys but i made sure i didnt download the update one and just to make sure i added the Art folders together. heres a pic bugerror1.jpg and im not sure if the landscape is missing some trees and what not here or if you made it to look that way bugerror2.jpg But over all i love this map and what are your thoughts about adding some small rock crawling sections? it would really add to the Extreme feel! heres a pic of my 1st time out lol. i made it back to the house but only barley haha and btw the log bridge is super hard if not impossible coming down that hill lol but i love the challenge to try to make it that way and will keep trying till i get it lol. and i love the added challenge of not useing ctrl+r when i crash but starting all the way back at the start. afteradriveonxtrem.jpg
Awesome map! But most of the time it was really CPU\GPU heavy and i got a mere 30-40 FPS which is kinda on the low side. I ussually get 50-60, 60 being my limit. For some reason my GPU is blocked to 60 FPS... Anyway, i liked it, it was a real challenge. Thanks.
Awesome map! I'm pretty sure i have driven every road here, and none of them were boring! This map plus the 1994 jeep grand cherokee with the cummins diesel engine is awesome! I have spent waaaayyyy to much time messing around on just this map... Keep up the good work!
