It's pretty simple, it just modifies a few values in the groundmodels.json file. If Car_Killer doesn't want it uploaded that's on them, I'll deal with it, but it's a really simple mod so it shouldn't be a big deal.
best map among mods, extra features are great, not seen on other maps give it a try, even if you don't meet the minimum requirements: runs laggy on high and smooth on normal graphics settings with 8gb ram and amd ryzen 3 1200
Regarding how low end, the map works fine for me. I'm using a Gtx 1060 6gb, 8700k, 16gb of ram, and a 1TB nvme ssd using normal settings (without bloom, light rays, DOF, motion blur and reflections). Default area runs about 60-50fps on normal settings, but performance seems to deteriorate after a while of exploring. First load took a long time though, now last load took 5min 30sec. --- Post updated --- I like the road bumpiness and the road debris, however the collisions for the steel plates, train tracks and some ramps tend to puncture tires and capture cars. Really fun map, something I've missed in beam and the billboards are a fun challenge.

I wish we could just agree that Car_Killer is not going to change the road material. No matter how much you beg for them to change it, they will not. If you want it changed so badly, change it yourself. But quit whining for the millionth time that the roads are too slippery for your liking. How hard is this to understand?
For some reason when I get into the map, the "Continue" button on the custom UI doesn't work, even when I don't have any mods enabled but the map. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what I should do? Thanks
When I loaded in for the first time I had to wait a minute or so for it because it was probably still loading everything in. Might not be a "fix" but a thing to try
I have some suggestions. Could you add the slow motion effect (just like the crash cam, but not the crash cam itself) when you go through the billboards? That would add quite the NFS feel (cinematic camera when doing big jumps) and also would indicate better that the billboard you went through was "broken". Lots of times I go through billboards and get no message that it was found. Also, most sidewalks are too high and harsh. At least vanilla sidewalks only damage you car it you slide into it, or your car is REALLY low to the ground, not when you drive over them with any car that's not an offroader (and even them, sometimes, get their tires punctured). Other than that, the map is fabulous. I do fell that the cars slide more, but MAYBE that's because the map favors higher speeds and you may not feel that speed so well. Although I have a Aurata build using racing tires, and it slides on this map, while on others it rolls over. Maybe I have some mod that is conflicting with the data from the map.
I don't think anyone has asked this before, but will you have the traffic lights actually function instead of just solid yellow?
I did not work on that nor I planned to but it would be a nice addition. Tho I assumed it was not really needed in Burnout Fairhaven Beta Added to my "wishlist" for future updates.
Love the mod. The gripes i really really have are mostly the same, and thats just the curbs, but as ive read, thats an issue that is i hope getting addressed. The cars may be slippery, but they are usual beamng slippery which is a non problem. Sure its not NFS grippy, but its not slip and slide slippery Performance is ehh, but i guess that is due to 16 gigs of ram, the issue on my end is that music starts to stutter. I guess if anything id like something to make axles on the car nearly unbreakable, to help mitigate the curbs and jumps screwing over cars, but that is most likely out of reach haha. Maybe also a trigger to respawn the car once the crash scene ends, but im fine with the way it is But yea this mod is a banger
Thanks for nice feedback about the map. Regarding stuttering music, could you share your PC specs. Did you spawn traffic when the issue occurred, or you were only with 1 vehicle? About the car respawning after crashing, I decided not to fix/respawn vehicle after the crash camera as you might want to enjoy looking at what's left of your vehicle, since well it's BeamNG. You can easily fix your car by just hitting insert button.
Glad to help if i can: - Seems like the stuttering has mostly resolved after running the game the second try, seems like i went overboard with settings and the traffic amount. Now the settings are on normal, with 6 traffic cars on road, and the framerate is mostly solid 60fps. In city it dips to 30, which is i assume just collision mesh ammount being too harsh for my pc - The specs maybe are not needed, but i have a Ryzen 5 5600 at 4.2ghz, 16GB, 3200mhz, AMD RX6700XT 12gb - Regarding the car respawning. I kind of want to have that NFS experience and maybe there is a minority that wants that aswell maybe? Maybe have it as an option in the CK Map Controller that is toggleable? I have also found some rough collision spots regarding the area below (or above, this is my first time posting here lmao). If you have a discord for this mod, i can try and locate a lot of places with weird collisions that could be improved. EDIT: I have found other stuff below: - Due to the music lag while loading next song, the first 1 to 2 seconds of a song gets cut out. I guess to fix that, songs should have a second of nothing before the song starts - The crash scene should remove ability for car to take player inputs, right now, if you crash out, but the car is still drivable if it lands on wheels, you can extend the crashed duration by driving the car. - The crash scene might need a cooldown before the next crash scene can occur. There are situations where the car is tumbling in a crash scene, and if the car still tumbles after the crash scene, another one occurs - Just noticed that music echoes in the tunnels, amazing touch haha ADDITIONALLY, the road grip can be modified if you have a basic modding knowledge I hope im not too aggressive/harsh with the feedback And again, very nice mod, i cant wait for its future updates
Probably me being stupid, but how exactly does one change the current song on the radio? Enabling and disabling the radio does it, but no idea what buttons I'm supposed to press to switch songs manually.
