FAQ: Check here before asking a question

I added the "'x' Textures are broken. What do I do?" question to the wiki yesterday, feel free to edit it if an update comes out fixing texture bugs.

 

You should put something like :

-Why is " No material " written everywhere under my car ?

-It is a bug with the skidmarks. Drive can't find them so they are replaced by the " No material " logo. This bug is being fixed.

 

It doesn't always replace them with the "No material" logo, hence the wording being the way it is.

And the below are open for discussion, dunno if they should be in the faq;
Q: What (included) vehicle takes the most beating (while still being able to drive off)?
A: At the time of writing, the van.

Q: What happened to CryEngine3?
A: Its too costly (so force your entire town/city to buy alpha access! at that rate it could still happen)

Q: Where did my wheels go?
A: Avoid any form of jumping on the beaches, wheels tend to vanish in the sand that way.

Q: Why do some cars spin out when accelerating towards max speed?
A: This is mostly due to your driving skills, and partially an issue with keyboard controls (no way to dose the acceleration doesnt help a driving sim)

Not sure about the awnser on the last one (no ability to dose bit is obviously a problem, but not sure if its the cause of the spinning out)
nor am i even sure about mentioning the last 2 (since im guessing both problems will go away, then again most of the faq is about the current state, idk)

I was using custom mappings for my keyboard ever since the start of the game but with the new update when I change the controls it doesn't let me reset my vehicle, change my vehicle, change parts on my vehicle, change from Automatic to Manual, and it doesn't let me exit the game. Can anyone help?

 

So, this might seem stupid, but where can I redownload the game? I bought it ages ago, but after reinstalling my PC I can't seem to figure that part out.

I have a problem. I just bought the game, downloaded it, and ran it. i went into the settings and changed it from windowed 720p to full screen 1080, and changed the display from intel to nvidia. it displayed in full screen and said i have to restart it for the changes to take effect. now when i start it, it says "Failed to initialize Direct 3D! Make sure you have Directx 9 installed, and are running a graphics card that supports Pixel Shader 1.1" i really just want to rever it back to what it was, originally. is there a way to do that?

just for reference, i'm running a asus a75v notebook, with nvidia geforce gt 630M. i usually do this with all my games, making sure that they run with the better gpu. this is the first time i've had this problem.

 

A 630M isnt much better than the intel graphics actually... Some people have had issues with NVidia Optimus, in the NVidia control panel there should be an option to force GPU rendering. Also update the NVidia GPU drivers and reinstall directX9 (10 and 11 do not count)

 

i'll reinstall dx9, if i have to, but is there a way of reverting the graphics settings back to what they were stock? i'll just forsake any graphics differences, if i can just run the game.
