One thing about forza that bugged me but I couldn't really put my finger on it was how the cars have no suspension. Even on the older muscle cars, there is no body roll. I have this Q7 that I like, and it's a pretty big suv. Even when it was stock, no body roll. At all. Maybe that's what makes it feel wrong.

I'm abit of an LFS fanboy to be honest, keep that in mind :) I think Assetto Corsa seems great, but it has yet to prove itself in order to match LFS. What's so great about LFS besides the handling and physics? The answer is multiplayer functionality. To me, LFS offers the absolute best multiplayer features of any car oriented game today. With a easy to use, connect to server type system similar to many other successful multiplayer games such as counter-strike or gmod. (Even JK2 which I used to play back in the day). The style in which LFS has approached their multiplayer lays a great foundation for community forming. It's just so unrestrictive. You can host a server, load a track, any player can join any server at any time (no need to match your mods to the server, which is another great thing about LFS, the mod free integrity). You don't have to que for races to start etc. The server becomes what the users makes of it. It's such a free and well functioning multiplayer experience with good server management functions, good chat functions and a quite diverse set of server styles ranging from roleplaying servers (cruise) to drift servers where you just hang out, drift around and chat with people, to serious racing servers where people undeniably are extremely skilled at driving. So it's very competetive. Besides that LFS has a few interesting experimental features, such as the synthetic engine sounds rather than looped samples. Even if the sounds aren't 100% real (not bad though if you set them up properly) it's a concept which gives more consistency and dynamics than needing to produce quality engine samples to loop for each new combination of engine / engine parts.

I'm not saying Assetto Corsa can't top this, and I'm not saying Assetto Corsa is bad, it might weigh over LFS in other aspects. Graphics being one clear aspect.
Although. If LFS had an update in graphics engine yet still running on the same solid foundation it would be pretty hard to beat.

LFS has been stuck in development for a good while though with the developer gone mad over 100% perfected handling physics :) But that's arguably a good thing.

Edit: Handling wise though, they're both extremely impressive..

You're wasting your time on a driving "sim" with anything less than a wheel imo.

If you have a wheel and you like simulators then yes. Don't wait 'til the game goes up in price later in development. (assuming it still goes up in price)
