Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB Thanks, it was enjoyable to make (other than crashing here and there). Glad the performance is good, hopefully it should be even better now, though your system is still pretty good. I made everything entirely from scratch in the map editor using the tools provided. It's very nice to use once you get used to it. This is essentially my learning map, where I got used to the tools and best practises to use for whatever I wanted to do, such as smoothing roads out or placing forests, and in which order to do everything.
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB I have an issue with the roads, when I make a road I see the road skip, meaning like when I drive over it, some spots your can see the terrain underneath the road? Have you had that before?
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB The only time I've ever had something like that is when I had a really long road on a sharp hill and it will refuse to render on it. You can see that within the editor without driving over it so I assume it's not the same issue. I assume its the terrain showing through and not grass or anything right? Got a screenshot?
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB As you can see in those areas where is goes away, it does it all the time when I drive of it. Yeah here:
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB Really nice this map! But too Goumand for my setup: ( (dirt fucking AMD processor!)
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB That's very odd, never seen that before in anything I've made. Apart from putting a similar coloured texture down for the ground under it I can't really suggest anything. Maybe ask the guys that develop Torque3D.
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB more fps??? i get less than i did before update
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB I don't really see how that's possible. I've only deleted things, namely the grass models I put down right at the start and never removed.
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB Thank you for the map! You wouldn't happen to have an overhead view of it so I can figure out where some landmarks are? I drove around but seemed to end up around the same areas each time. I did run into an area where I had a framerate drop, but I'm not sure if it was a map problem or my computer not being powerful enough. To get to it, drive left from your spawn in point past the gas station, through the first s-turn to this dirt road on the right (first attachment.) Then follow the dirt road to where it comes next to the stream (second attachment.) I had a decent framerate drop and even a brief freeze, but like I said I don't know if it was my computer or the actual map. I've tested this twice now (first time was first time with the map, second time was after I rebooted the game.) Any ideas on the problem? Thanks!
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB Thanks for the download. There's an overhead view on the first page near the bottom, but I've attached it here for you. The spawn is in the bottom right. The framerate drop is probably caused by the amount of varied foliage I used in that section, being one of the more densely forested areas in the map. The freezing is an issue with the engine I think, but again is probably down to the foliage variance and it can't stream the models in fast enough. I don't think there's much I can do about this short of decreasing the forest density and decreasing the variance of the forest models.
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB i know thats what i dont get too but it happened so...
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB I searched a long time for the creation of the map "Airplane_Deadisland", if you want to win a big performance gain, disable "FullReflect" of the water, strangely the games seem to have much difficulty to manage. Also, in the woods, where the farthest roads of players can not risk venturing, reduce the density of the wood!. for not much difference graphically, you can in the shadows, set the quality to 512 instead of 1024. normally everything should be back to normal. after making the change on your map, I play on the map with all the graphics to the max! and all "PostFX" enabled and maximum quality (imported from here) Uploaded with ImageShack.us Uploaded with ImageShack.us
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB Awesome! Is there any chance you can make your version available? I haven't got any time to do any work on BeamNG for at least a few weeks. Also, what was your FPS before and after?
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB I would do the test, and I'll give you a comparative!
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB Just a little heads up: I'm going to try and work on the FPS issues tonight and see if Sevennemesis' suggestions work. So those of you with some FPS issues on here, hopefully those suggestions will fix it, plus I'll have a look into some extra optimisations.
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB Map looks amazing can't wait for my PC to get running again
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB Only issue I have with this is that you can drive through water :/
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB Isn't that an issue with the game, or has it been fixed since and I missed something?
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB That only happens with certain mods, I don't know why
Re: Fijiti - [Update 1] - More FPS, smoother roads, 9MB It says no texture for all the roads on this map for me, PLLZZ help i was so looking foward to playing on this beautiful map but a yellow road saying "no texutre" isnt beautiful. plzz fix
