"The Decoration part has been updated:
You can turn a 3D object into a flexbody, if you attach it to nodal points."

People aren't even comparing it to BeamnNG, they're saying it's like Kerbal Space Program, it's all about the engineering. That's one hell of a compliment to make.
Apparently You can design the entire car, like the frame, suspension and other components, everything from the ground up, from scratch, from within the game. And crash it of course, however you want! That's really impressive. Very impressive. Already has workshop support, and though the cars don't look anywhere near as cool as here, they can get there slowly I imagine. Anyone actually own it and can say it improves on some things that Beam Should/Could have? And What about Automation? Could it also replace that, does it have solid engine customization? I'm thinking more ideas for us just looking at it. It even has realtime multiplayer and the devs are very competent!

It's on Sale now for under $12 if you fancy something "Fresh". Whatever that means

Update: Digging in, I've found it's not a new project either, it started off years back, before steam, no wonder it looks refined. Here's a thread on it https://steamcommunity.com/app/488550/discussions/0/1738887616126146234/

    "Competitor"
    No.
Crashing in DCB is sub par by a massive margin and seems to be incredibly poorly optimized.

Vehicle creation actually looks incredibly basic, as far as I can tell all you can make are buggies with your choice of wheel count and body shell.

Has anyone here actually played it for say over 20 hours though? If there are ways to improve the front end beam strength at least, it's most likely people haven't put in the time and effort into their crash physics for the mods to begin with. But if it's there, then that is rather nice touch ;)
It runs fine on a computer compared to beam, so dunno what you mean by "optimisation". BeamNG has the worst optimization of any driving/racing game I've ever seen. That's likely due the the million or so physics calculations but still, nothing to brush off. DCB is already ahead in that department.
And no, vehicle creation involves a lot of things, it's rather impressive what it includes. You can even build trucks and tanks and use experimental equipment such as rockets to make them fly. Check it out.

...I have 33 hours in the game?
And SuperAutozone69 is right, the vehicle creation is crazy basic. Also your PC is rather powerful, and mine is rather old but also rather powerful and I get at most 20 fps on DCB. On beam i get nearly 50.

Show me what you've made, it's the easiest way to see if you understand what can be done or if you just left it on for 3 days, which is likely considering your post history. o_O

Yeah, you go nothing, no proof that you even know how to use DCB. Get lost already, your so immature. lmao

I'm saying that because (And this is very important):
    1. I have absolutely nothing to prove to you, as I know that i'm right.
    2. I'm not gonna bother to launch DCB (Which takes a while) and show you my 4x4, 6x6, and 8x8 truggies so you can go ahead and say that i'm wrong anyways.
    3. I literally don't care whatsoever.

None of you two look mature with those posts above.
How about you give it a cut? Thank you very much.

Alright. Everyone just ignore that. DCB is great, to sum up it's worth the money if that's what you're looking for, perhaps a competitor to Beam? Who knows. But it is rather capable from what I can tell, and I'm thoroughly impressed with it. Which is why I thought of sharing it with you all ;)

It does seem like it has some decent crashes and it advanced to actually having bodywork. Yeah I agree, but it will take some time for it to have the same popularity so its an actual competition

I saw a video in which the crashes were arcadey but it's still not bad for a start. Seems It has one major thing going for it: the ability to make many types of vehicles from the ground up. Beam relies on mods for that, you can only make configs with the base game. Unless you already have Automation. But with DCB it's the opposite, the entire game is for making things that move. And Buying two games is far more expensive than just getting the one, so it has a good chance with some polish.

I'm thinking the reason DCB exists is to grow in popularity, once it gets good enough, he'll be bought up by a sponsor, perhaps targem games and even more content will come out, it'll come out of early access and may become a Beam competitor or something else. Same way Beam wasn't making any money when it was called RoR and basically only two people working on it for years, then the devs moved to rebranding it and changing things and now we have BeamNG with a whole team of devs

So you've just proved that DCB is not a competitor to BeamNG. If they have different objectives, one being to build and drive buggies as an alien and one to realistically drive and crash cars, then what exactly is the similarity?

    literally what

Edit: This is maybe to be the decider for those wondering if the game could be for them, this is mode perhaps where you'll want to sink in most of your time. Fairly easy and straightforward Independent suspension:

This one's glossing over history of planes made by one user for DCB. Fairly recent video.
