FMOD SoundBanks

    Hello everyone !

    I just stumpled upon BeamNG some days ago, and first of all I have to say : what an amazing piece of software!

    As a sound-designer I'm interested in making my own sounds / soundsets and testing them with "real" vehicle data from Beam.

    While researching I learned that you can replace Engine Sounds with your own custom made sounds, but I haven't found anything about using the full functionality of FMOD with Beam.

    My question now is : Is it possible to use your own FMOD .banks inside BeamNG, so I can use my own logic / filter curves / plugins etc. etc. ?
    And if so, can anyone point me into a direction since I didn't find any tutorials / documentation for something like this :)

    I hope my question makes sense.

    Hey, thanks for your interest :)
    We haven't been using FMOD for a terribly long time yet, so unfortunately we haven't had time yet to add back all modding related functionality.
    However, the bigger goal het is indeed to allow you guys to have custom banks etc.

    Im afraid it's going to still take a little while though.

    Hello Diamondback,

    thank you for your super fast response :)

    Guess I have to find another way then for now, until it is added, but no hurry ;)

    One solution idea I came up with is using OutGauge to send UDP data to the Unreal4Engine where I have my FMOD banks implemented.
    Kind of an ugly workaround but it does the job for now ;)
