So, yesterday was Liberation Day in Italy. I was invited to a wine and gourmet cuisine tasting in a restored watermill to celebrate. I wasn't allowed to take pics of the dishes, but I surely had the best time (and food!) of my life.
Today for lunch i ate some pasta with vegetables(with fried banana and avocado cream). It was very nice, but the pasta was so damn spicy.
i recommend putting a tiny tiny bit of vinegar into your T H I C C Roice for flavor (seriously its good)
Spoiler: Low quality photo which I didn't intend to share... I had some Orville Redenbacher corn kernels laying around. It isn't much use to me now since I have white corn kernels for making popcorn; IMO it makes much better popcorn. I got bored and decided to ground up the old stuff and see what I can make with it. Made corn chips with it and they actually turned out great. Have some corn bread in the oven right now, not sure it's going to go as well... Update: The cornbread is good
Had to do a bit of a bodge for this meal, yay or nay? I was making a Pesto, Onion, and Cheese Panini. But when I had prepared everything and got the panini maker up to temperature, I found that my panini rolls (only bread I had at the time) had spots of mould on them .So I decided to substitute in two soft burrito tortillas. At first I though it might turn out to be a sloppy (but tasty) mess, but it turns out the soft rolls harden slightly when heat is applied directly, meaning I was able to eat it with my hands with only slightly more difficulty than a pizza with toppings that slide a bit. I probably wouldn't do it again by choice, since I do prefer panini bread slightly. But all in all, this is cheaper, with less perishable ingredients, and tastes more or less the same.
Made a Pizza today. The base was fat free Greek style yogurt with self raising flour in roughly equal quantities. The toppings were passata and Seriously Strong cheddar cheese. Super easy to make + tastes like pizza = happy aljowen.
Perhaps a little off topic. But guess which idiot managed to slice their thumb on the blunt side of a table knife while doing the dishes. Moral of story, don't assume blunt side of table knife isn't sharp? Owwww... I can already tell that's not just a slice but will also bruise over since it was a fairly hard impact.
I tried a burger with ghost pepper sauce and fried jalapenos once and it was one of the best things I've ever tasted.
I have no idea what to expect, or how to know if it is cooked. But I am certainly intrigued. EDIT: Well, I finished cooking it, and I am not really sure what to say. I might as well of eaten a Falafel burger, its no different. I guess its less effort to "cook"?
