Forum changes

That's true; however, it would (hopefully) make the issue slightly better. I'm trying to think of better countermeasures, but that was the only thing that came to mind.

 

Also, idk if the "likes" thing is normal :/

 

It is normal, it was used before the previous rating system was inplemented back in November 2016.

 

I think after these changes, the forums will be a better place. I saw where some bad users were banned. I see a bright future for the forums.

All the ratings from before the updates remain, but no new ratings may be added atm. Tdev said all the data of likes is saved, and the proof is right there in that picture.

@tdev Are you going to prevent the RP groups posts from showing up in the "New Posts" section for the non rp members on the forum because it would be a polite idea to make that be only visible to the RP members only, not the entire forum, to me personally I find it annoying somewhat seeing roleplay topics clogging up my New Posts section, its just my own personal view on it

 

Wow. That's a lot to read while having my morning cup of tea.
I'm heading to school now so I won't dive into some quotes I've found and would like to give feedback/ask for explanation on, but I will give some words.

Spoiler: My view/story

I'm 13. Yep, that means I've joined under the age limit of the forums. But look where I've gone, when I look back at my old posts I shudder because of how immature and bad they are. Now, I am much more mature, many people don't think I'm 13! This goes to show that people will nature when exposed to good influenced, but the opposite will happen when exposed to 2017-era forum members.

Thank you devs for making an attempt to clean up the crap around here, I know people who would just leave forever. I feel really bad about Nadeox, he was my favorite member of all time. Nobody can replace his calm charm, and the help he gives everyone.
I like the removal of the ratings system (I know it's temporary), people have no motivation to like-spam or post-spam. If they do return, maybe only like, dislike, and agree. There would be a limit (and a smaller one on dislike).

 

I agree with a limit, I mean you can't be more than lvl 13 warrior in some rulesets, so you could have something like -5 to +10 or whatever is seen suitable.

I remember this kid I quoted behaving bit badly sometime, but he came up all right, so people don't hate each other even some might behave badly, only if they never will learn, they can be hated.

 

Totally agree with wilkgr (post number 224), especially the last 2 points.
But with the rating system down, I cannot give him props.

 

Well, I’m a bit late to the whole community-moderation-discussion party, but I know I’d sure as heck never want anybody like myself moderating these forums. It’s true that I’m not the most mature, or competent, or whatever else member on this forum, but I am still part of the community.

 

Everyone stop making such a big f*ckin' deal about this and get on with your lives. If you care this much about a gaming forum for a single game then you've got other things to worry about. ffs

As for the ratings can we have "Awesome" back. I liked that one (nvm me using it on almost every single development post )
I think it's justifiable to delete "agree" and "disagree" as anyone who wants to do either can post a post (damn u english language ). And argue.

But yeah i can see why we need to get the forum more mature. Flamewars seriously *rolls eyes*.

Anyone remember the hype train in fairness though it wasn't that bad. Didn't cause any damage
