I am one of the few most likely...I like Windows 8.1's UI, and I personally don't want to change. But it isn't bad or anything and I will definately use it. It is the latest OS and it is free for 7 on up users. Also it is free for the 1st year of it's release, so you have to reserve it before then, othwerwise you will have to pay for it.
For those interested you can download this tool and still do the upgrade to Windows 10 as usual: https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/software-download/windows10
incorrect, it won't work without a product key, and you can't get the upgraded product key (your windows 8/8.1 key nor your 7 key will work) without upgrading via the icon in the notification area the link your provided is if you want to do a clean install AFTER you've upgraded and gotten the key from the icon
lolno. You don't need a product key to upgrade via that way unless you don't have a genuine Windows install. Went from 7 Home Premium to 10, and it kept all my files.
this says otherwise: https://www.reddit.com/r/Windows10/comments/3f02fu/psa_you_must_upgrade_your_existing_windows_os_to/ and just because it worked for you does NOT mean it will work for everyone else
Been on the fence about it, I really do like my Windows 7. I never actually have gotten a chance to play with 8 or 8.1. I might keep my i7 laptop Win7 & OSX, and the gaming PC my partner is building me will more than likely be Win10. Shame I never really played with 8.
