The fuel consumption reading in the Debug Mode 1 (L/100km) is bugged. When you are completely stopped it says that my car needs thousands of liters per 100Km.

For fuel consumption, the physics engine calculates the fuel that the vehicle's engine consumed in the last distance that you covered, and extrapolates from that (like real cars do). When you are stopped, essentially you consume fuel without going anywhere, so the L/100km calculation essentially becomes infinite.

The problem that you see is because in real cars the car's computer waits until the car has started moving until it displays this fuel consumption information (to avoid showing to you, ridiculous values).

In BeamNG, you see the same information in the debug display which always shows the *raw* values/calculations of what goes behind, for debug purposes. When we add a user targetted display (not a debug one), then we'll do the same thing as they do in real cars.

That's actually correct. An issue in Drive is that you're never really sitting still, so it calculates fuel consumption in regard to that really tiny amount of distance you travel. So assume the D15 burns ~0.1667 litres (0.004 gallons) of fuel[SUP]#1[/SUP] and it moves 1cm (6[SUB]x10[SUP]-6[/SUP][/SUB] miles) over one second, the game calculates:
10,000,000[SUP]#2[/SUP]*0.1667 to give a fuel consumption of 1,667,000 litres per 100km[SUP]#3[/SUP]
    or
    6[SUB]x10[SUP]-6[/SUP][/SUB]*250 to obtain 0.0001411 miles per gallon.[SUP]#3[/SUP]

This is greatly exaggerated, but represents exactly what's happening.

[SUP]#1[/SUP]values obtained from average petrol i4 fuel consumption at idle of 800rpm: 1 litre (0.25 gallons) per hour.
    [SUP]#2[/SUP]cm in 100km
    [SUP]#3[/SUP]this might be completely wrong

A littlebit OT, but. Some of the real cars start to show Litres per Hour instead, some of them stop showing the information, like you said.
