Hello and welcome, to what is hopefully a fun series of threads about the BeamNG vehicles & their unique traits which makes them stand out from other in-game cars!
Depending on the community reception, there will be more threads like this, especially for upcoming vehicles.

Here is some fun & unique facts about the Pigeon:
    • It is the first car to have an engine removed/replaced altogether, going from a 660cc diesel engine to a 550cc Petrol engine
    • upload_2022-6-4_23-23-2.png
    • It has an unused "migratory bird research station" skin, to go along with the buildings on Small Island by the same name
    • upload_2022-6-4_23-23-35.png
    • In its early days, the Pigeon used a strange front suspension, which used a belt-driven steering pulley, but it was replaced with the more Reliant Robin-like system with a linkage-based steering system.
    • It was the last car to still be using hubwheels, after every other car had been converted to pressurewheels
    • The dashboard sports a warning label claiming "do not make a steering sharply at the high speed", a reference to poorly done machine translations which were common at the time
    • upload_2022-6-4_23-28-6.png
    • The engine has "121500" marked on it, implying the mileage since an engine service, and the Pigeon's odometer reads "132130"
    • The aftermarket 4-link rear suspension is completely unique to the Wigeon's 5-link suspension
    • It is the first vehicle to feature a front-mid engine layout
    • It originally was a 3-wheeled vehicle, but has gained a 4-wheeled chassis as an option in its most recent remaster
    • One of its configs comes with unique stabilizer wheels to keep it from rolling over
    • upload_2022-6-4_23-21-33.png
Feel free to add some fun facts of your own :)

    • It's the smallest vehicle in the game
    • It was the second car to share it's frame with another car, after the Wendover/Legran
    • It's the most memed vehicle in the game
    • At high speed the car will steer to the left by itself on the 3-wheeled configuration
    • Along with the Piccolinia, it can glide if the engine is removed and a mattress is attached.
    • It's cute as hell
    • The Cool version features a bed bench facing towards the rear (I'm sure those have a name but i don't know what it is)
    • Prior to it's remaster it was suprisingly tough.

It is made mostly of plastic, with the exception of the frame, powertrain, interior panels, glass and seats. Before the remaster, the glass and seats were also plastic, and there were no interior panels.
Before the remaster, an average human couldn't fit in the Pigeon, but it has been made taller so it was fixed.
Before the remaster, the tires were part of the wheels in parts selector, and the lights were part of the body and rear bumper.
At first it only had 1 configuration, more were added later.
The underside looks really cheaply made, with lazy paint and the exhaust pipe welded from several smaller parts without smoothing.
The Pigeon art on the documentation page has a second front wiper, which has never been a thing in game.
There was a halloween gif once that featured the Pigeon with spider legs.
The default color used to be more blue-ish before the remaster than now.
In theory, on the 4 wheel version you could fit a bigger engine by putting it in the empty space where normally the single wheel suspension is and putting the transmission in the place of the normal engine. But a V8 won't fit, I tried lol.
Despite the really low engine power, you can do little burnouts with the Pigeon thanks to the gear ratios being set for quite high low-end torque, due to it being a pickup.
There have been LOTS of mods for 4-wheel Pigeons before it became official. Most of them were off-road ones, and one of them still works but it's not on the repository anymore.
Before the remaster, the Pigeon definitely had the worst quality models and textures of all cars, without a doubt.
Before the remaster, it had disc brakes which makes zero sense for such a car (too expensive for its age and price + it's a pickup + it's slow).
Before the remaster, the I4 engine used to be a motorbike engine, at least in terms of its behavior.
The doors only have 1 hinge each, and the latch has no lock, so it's extremely easy to break inside.
The seats aren't regulated but are bolted to the floor.
Despite being sold in America, it has the steering wheel on the wrong side, I guess they sold the British export unchanged in the US.
The stabilizer wheels are parts of powertrain and theoretically could be powered if shafts were added to them.
It is safer in a head-on collision than you might think because the steel frame where the front suspension is mounted takes the impact and bends before it reaches to the cabin. Unintentional crumple zone lol

I'll throw in a few more facts about the Pigeon since I have some to share:
    • The name is a reference to the Reliant Robin. Both pigeons and robins are types of birds.
    • The Pigeon was the first diesel-powered official content vehicle in BeamNG when it was introduced in version 0.3.1.0 on June 22, 2014. Obviously, the remaster in version 0.23 removed this diesel engine in favor of a regular gasoline engine (at least DaddelZeit managed to retain that option via an add-on), but regardless, it is the first official content vehicle with a 3-cylinder engine, predating the Cherrier Vivace and its 3-cylinder engine by almost 6 years.
    • Arguably the most iconic color on the Pigeon is Seafoam Green, which was its default color since its release in 2014. Even though said remaster changed its default color to Verdant Green, Seafoam Green is still available to pick in the vehicle and parts selection menu.
    • The idea for a 4-wheeled Pigeon first started out as user-created mods, the most well-known being from mike94 (as well as another from former staff member DrowsySam). These and the official 4-wheeled version are separated by a few years (around 4 years for the former, approximately 7 years for the latter).
    • Someone (don't remember who exactly) made a 3-wheeled D-Series mod back in 2014, using the same concept as the Pigeon. It doesn't work properly in the latest build today (obviously), but that was the supersized version if you thought the Pigeon was too small for your tastes.
    • You can use the Pigeon from version 0.3.1.0 in even older copies of the game between 0.3.0.0 and 0.3.0.5! Attempting to port over the rest of the vehicles from 0.3.1.0 (D-Series, H-Series, Grand Marshal, Covet, Bolide, and Moonhawk) into these initial builds won't work though, but why would you still use version 0.3.0.5 in this day and age anyway?
I hope you enjoyed these interesting facts I provided :)

    One question.
I downloaded an old version of beamng (dont remember the version) and there was the belt system.
Its soo undrivable and the version i played had no body jbeam or a very stiff one.
So im asking if someone remembers the version of the belt steering pigeon.

the d series offroad, covet race, and various stripped/drift missile versions of cars came way before the pigeon was even released.
