Eh, I'm fine with your bump. Also, there's a college called Bristol Community College... but it's not in Bristol at all.
In Swindon there's a university campus, Swindon doesn't have a university and the campus is for Oxford's own university. Both towns are 40 miles apart.
It's not the only one https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...d447e9d82f130ff!8m2!3d53.7456654!4d-0.3367996
No wonder they refer to the Northeast of the US as "New England". It literally shares city names with other cities in the UK (mostly England). Okay, that's probably not the only reason why, but I don't actually think it's coincidental when you start thinking about that. EDIT: There's another city named "Hull", which is located in Quebec. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hull,_Quebec
There's London in England And there's also one in Ontario, Canada https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...c7d7699a056b95!8m2!3d42.9849349!4d-81.2452698 There's the city of New York in New York state. Which is named after the ancient Northern English city of York: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...774ab898a54e4d1!8m2!3d53.9599741!4d-1.0873032 There's a Birmingham in England: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...a81fef0aeee7998!8m2!3d52.4861254!4d-1.8910217 But there's also one in Alabama: https://www.google.co.uk/maps/place...25507409eaba54ce!8m2!3d33.5186066!4d-86.81036 All of this was definitely caused by Britain's colonial grip on America, when it still had it.
Even a few city names were borrowed from Wales. A prime example is Swansea. Wales: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swansea Massachusetts: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Swansea,_Massachusetts
In my area there is an area of roads that are grouped into categories. Craziest names you'd probably ever hear. Rattler's haven drive. https://www.google.com/maps/@36.6634115,-82.5301528,20.87z Snowflake community https://www.google.com/maps/@36.6886679,-82.4931899,18.29z
There's also a Bristol, TN and Bristol, VA Both in the same pic here... As featured on a Geico TV commercial...
There's always been a fair share of cities who share names. I know there's a Fall River in North Dakota and Oregon as well, not just my state.
