Here is a short clip of my G27 getting molested by Beamng. I put the mic right next to the wheel as you should be able to see. Note the delightful drone of my pc in the background too!
    Hope that helps somehow...

Thought the majority of the noise in the G27 was backlash in the straight cut plastic gears. For that price, I reckon some nice helical cut brass would have been doable.

That's the issue, the G27 does have helical gears while the G25 has straight cut gears. The noise is made by the motor gears as they move up and down during wheel motion.

In games like Euro truck simulator the squeaking of my chair is louder than the wheel itself. In BeamNG the only noise i get is when turning against the motor which is only slightly above typing level on my rubber dome keyboard. The only time it gets really loud is when traveling over a cobbled street in Assetto Corsa (at like 20mph to get maximum shake in a sports car) at which point it reaches talking volume but when the computer monitors are quite visibly shaking from the FFB i think that is probably acceptable since it should never be that strong.

@ Above, that would explain why i dont have any issues with the clicking then.

But i guess its worth mentioning that the fanatec products are belt driven so they will be quieter because of that as well.

well the Thurstmaster wheels are also belt driven wheels, but I may be correct in saying they use a duel/single belt and a gear setup I forget if I heard that from somewhere or not.

Also there is absolutely no way I could afford a fanatec wheel and I feel I will be just as happy with my wheel I want to get fixed/replaced one way or another.

I understand the price I am paying is a little over the top:

but I like the wheel it's self.

After using it and being a guy that prefers mostly using paddles to shift I think I'll be fine.

Also the pedals get more flack than they should, I mean yes with the money they charge for it a clutch should have been very doable and maybe some higher quality internal materials could have been doable but back to them.

The pedals actually have some resistant forces on the brake to make it feel different from the throttle, even after double DIY modding my brake on my DFGT it doesn't feel as solid as this brake.

Obviously this brake is nothing like the pedals with the rubber brake mod [No brainer]] and such that come with the better Thrustmaster pedals or load cells mods available for G25/27/29/290 and likely the T3PA Thrustmaster set but they kick the DFGT pedals to the curb in every way including obvious slight customization availability.

And even with my broken wheel before it got super bad but just ridiculously glitchy I was at least able to run an F1000 in Project Cars 60-75% pace @ Watkins Glen Raceway pace with my wheel in poor condition and the feeling alone of the wheel paddles and semi botched precision I could make laps and get some idea of what the wheel feels like. [FFB was kinda working too but had it low as to not mess up the than "Working" steering]

But the wheel was glitched in the following ways:
    it was set for 900deg
Left's lock was more like a 720 or 750 deg lock meaning 360-375 left.
Right's lock was the max 1080deg lock on this wheel being 540deg right.

And that was during the first little bit than it was worse:
    set to 900deg
I had basic steering on the left side that work alright
The right side had short range issues as soon as I went from center to the right like 2 positions the wheel in-game was basically turning 90-180 degs in-game but I could still manage a lap like this if not for center and steering inconsistency at times.

Obviously my wheel is either factory defective or has internal shipping damage.

Just fyi the g27 pedals are also indivdually sprung. So the throttle is lightest, clutch is heavier and the brake is heaviest.

    Well I already knew that...

The brake is harder on that than on my pedals, I am just saying people say they are useless when they are actually better than at least the DFGT and people mostly don't say the DFGT's pedals are useless, just lacking in quality.

I mean hands down the G27 pedals are 100% better than the T300RS's stock pedal set.

Regarding the noise of G25/27/29/920, you have to factor in where it's installed. If you have it mounted on a table it it will be more noisy than on a cockpit rig that's placed on a floor mat. Last example will obviously be less noisy, which it is in my case. Thank god.

So I thought I was gonna receive the end all fix from customer service today as they usually send me a response email to me every 5 business days after I send them my response @ around 11am-2pm my time... usually on fridays.

It's been 6 since I sent them my last one it is now 2pm in the afternoon after sending them everything they've requested which requiered me to send it directly through my email to them rather than the usual response via their website to costumer service email.

Because I needed to send them Attachments they'd requested, I got the email 10min after sending that last friday @ lunchtime that they'd received it and made a ticket for it.

    Still no email...

    Apply ducktape.
Not to the device, but to your stand, to create an area where the shifter will have more grip.
Was in the same boat, untill I applied my ducktape.

    Duct* tape. Not duck tape.
Also, thread's been dead for 4 months, problem is most likely solved by now.
